Hello, I wanted to reach out because I had a couple questions. I went to summer seminar session 2 of last year. I completed everything for my Naval Academy application back in late November. I already received my nomination through the congressman, and the only thing I haven’t received yet is my medical evaluation. I was confused on does the Academy scheduled appointment for the medical evaluation or is that something you have to do on your behalf?

I haven’t received anything back yet and my application process is still pleading. i’ve been trying to keep a positive mindset and not stress out.

The medical exam is scheduled yourself via DoDMETS. Go to the DoDMETS.com website and under the APPLICANT box there are instructions on where to start and a FAQ.

If your file has been forwarded to DoDMERB to start the medical review process, your info will be downloaded to DoDMETS, the government contractor who coordinates with applicants and assigned providers. You will set up your own appointments.

Folllw the New User instructions to log in on DoDMETS, then set up a profile and change to your own password. If you are unable to do this, contact Admissions to see if your file has been forwarded to DoDMERB. You can call, email or come up on the daily live chat via the chat widget on the Admissions website. Have your candidate number handy.

Meanwhile, get smart on the process by going to the DoDMERB home page and reading through everything in the left-side menu, including the Contacts section.

DoDMERB (joint DoD federal agency, Q/DQ decision-makers) and DoDMETS (govt contractor for field process) are 2 different organizations with different logins.

Did you already have the medical examination and you are waiting for DODMERB approval or you haven’t done it yet?

Isn’t already to late for him to schedule it for this application cycle?

It’s getting into the last few months of the cycle. DoDMERB actions can go into the late spring. Let’s hope the poster has no DQs to extend the process, has read my post and literally run to his or her keyboard.

Normally, when the SAs request the DoDMERB process to start, DoDMERB auto-generates an email to tell the applicant to go to DoDMETS. I suspect the DoDMERB multi-month site outage disrupted that process or else the email went to spam folder.

Note the initial condition ....I don't think you can simply set up a DODMETS account and start setting up appointments until your name has been submitted to DODMERB. First step is to reach out to your Admissions Counselor and see if your name has been submitted.
As CAPT MJ noted, Candidate usually gets an email from DODMBERB to start the process, but there was a problem this year ... if you haven't hear anything, be proactive and reach out to Admissions.

If i remember, you should be getting an email from DoDMERB. I had gotten mine back in August despite not submitting my application.

Paging @Angel_A8, are you taking the stellar advice from the sage posters and running to your keyboard? The clock is ticking.
