I am a varsity athlete(swimming) and am in top physical condition. I have a 3.95 GPA taking AP and honors courses. However i have severe myopia on the scale of -13.00 dioptres of refractivs error. They are correctable with glasses just like lesser non disqualifying forms of myopia. What are the chances that i could get a waiver for this. I personally dont understand the difference between two cadets who see the same out of glasses, only one's lenses are thicker. Opinions?

Have you started the DoDMERB process yet? From what I can tell, you just have to go for it. No way to know if it's a disqualifying issue until you go through the eye exam/remedials/etc.

I agree with MMMom, you need to just go forward with the exam. As far as opinions on this matter, it really doesn't matter anyone's opinion because in the end it is the military's decision on what is and what isn't an acceptable level, you just have to accept this is their decision and move forward. Debating about it will only cause frustration, nothing more and nothing less.

Exactly... read my post about what my DS just went though. DoDMERB process is actually very straightforward and we found the DoDMERB staff to be most helpful when we emailed/called with questions. Good luck!
