DS selected for CVW for Thurs-Sat in Nov. Wife and I going just stay after Thursday afternoon drop off and then attend parent info sessions on Friday and then football game Sat before we head home.

Any recomended reasonable priced hotels or B&B's in walking distance to USNA ?

I Recommend the Hilton DTA or The Graduate Hotel in DTA. Both walking distance to The Yard. The price however fluctuates a lot depending on local events. B&B's are not in my wheelhouse. Best of Luck to you!

.
The daily garage close to all happenings and Gate 1 is very reasonably priced … so your hotel room doesn’t need to be within walking distance …. There should be a lot of accommodations within a 5 mile radius.

I let my wife pick where we are going to stay. I avoid any grief. If it’s only a few days stay, she usually just gets a room at a Holiday Inn Express. They are normally clean and reasonably priced. And they have decent breakfast.

There are hotel rooms above Chick and Ruth’s deli. I have staying there on my bucket list, bc their amazing breakfast is included!!

Another couple places are Flagg House Inn, and Gibson’s. I’ve heard good things about both of those places.

We always do an Airbnb. You can find those right close as well. And the homes are adorable.

Gibson’s Lodgings are right next to Gate 1 walk gate, ideal for DTA (Downtown Annapolis) strolling and Yard access, AND they have their own off-street parking, which many B&B’s do not.

There is a cluster of the usual business property chain hotels in the Riva Road area, a short distance away.

The larger hotels in DTA often have shuttles to the City Dock area.

Every football game has reunion classes in town, which can impact room availability.

I’ve attached a link about gate security and a USNA Yard map.

Navy football game day info: what you can take into Stadium, parking, shuttles, etc.

Check to see if it is a football game weekend. Every football game has weekend classes in town, which can impact room availability.

Your definition of reasonably priced is the key determining factor...there is a wide range of budgets. We find the Springhill Suites in our budget but it does involve needing to do an easy drive to DTA. We park at the parking garage downtown to walk onto the base and get to spend sometime in DTA which has great shopping and restaurants. I have wanted to stay at the Flag House Inn which we will do one time - that is very conveniently located a literal stones throw from the base visitor entrance as well. Have a blast - it's a great area!

Also you will be able to find parking near the stadium if you want to attend the game - such a good time!

1st Choice Gibson B&B (has parking), 2nd choice = Annapolis Inn (no parking). Both pricy but close to Gate 1.

It’s a little splurge but not much more, Annapolis Waterfront Hotel is worth it for the 2 days. Rates are lower because Thursday and Friday than Saturday. Pussers is good for a late drink too. See you then!

And when Capt MJ says "right next to Gate 1" that is precisely what that means- you back up to The Yard's perimeter fence- approx 100 yards to the visitor center doors.

For more budget focused folks like me who won’t mind driving 10-15 miles, Comfort Inn Conference center has been a good choice for us. Price about $130-150, excellent breakfast ( included in price). About 15-20 min drive to yard.

I prefer to splurge on dining and wining, splurging in Amish market, buying gifts for friends back home. Our visits have been around events at USNA, so we found the hotels in Annapolis out of our range.

If you see something meeting your needs on a football weekend jump in it. Lodging tends to be scarce.
I’ve had great luck with Airbnb’s when I’ve needed one in Annapolis and have used them all over the world. But, they tend to get snatched up quickly over busy weekends. For graduation weekend you need to book years out. Also, for some reason Annapolis Airbnbs have a reputation for cancelling reservations then listing again to get more money.

We stayed there for Air Force weekend. Very impressed with the value for money! Hot breakfast with biscuits and gravy, eggs, sausage, BACON!! And more.

Clean facility, nice pool, and most importantly the best staff I’ve ever experienced. From front desk to beyond. One can tell that’s an emphasis in their company culture.

And yes….affordable. Easy drive to the Yard.

It’s an older facility, but well kept. And those older buildings have solid doors and wallls, so it’s quiet. You don’t hear your neighbors (tv’s, showers, etc) at all. One of my pet peeves with newer construction.

I’m with @txfwindian. We always stay at the hotels in/around Parole to save money. We then spend the savings on great meals plus stuff from the Amish Market and swag from the Mid Store. And the drive from the hotel to Gates 1 or 8 is barely 10 minutes.

Parking in DTA is a royal pain. So we usually drive onto the Yard, park near the Mid Store or along Farragut Field, then walk into town. Man, I’m going to miss the DDIDBS card.

We actually did this last weekend- Stayed at the Crowne Plaza in Parole, hit the Amish Market, drove onto The Yard and parked across from Alumni Hall. It was Sailboat Show Weekend in DTA- so parking was probably as bad as it gets in DTA. Plenty of parking available on The Yard. That being said, if you do not have a DBIDS, want to minimize driving, and want to experience DTA as well as The Yard then staying in DTA is also a treat. My wife will be going with her sisters in February, none of which want to drive much, and they will be staying in DTA.

If new to the area, good to know that many of the 'close in' hotels do not have onsite parking (you park at a nearby parking garage) or charge for parking. Hotels near the mall all have free onsite parking, tend to be more reasonably priced and some have shuttle service to USNA. Mostly depends on your budget as mentioned above, how many times you will be going to the Yard and what your definition of a 'short walk' might be.
