For parents and friends who want to follow their child's journey through BCT and beyond, I recommend signing up for Webguy. You will find plenty of photographs that are uploaded on a daily basis during BCT. Its a bit like where's Waldo. It was a real thrill for my wife to find our daughter in the crowd and know "she was having fun".

Webguy is run by the Air Force Academy Association of Graduates (AOG).

Signed up last week. Can't wait to start seeing the photos roll in. :popcorn1:

Oh my, Webguy! I spent more time in a relationship with these wonderful people than with my real world family ;)

Prepare yourself to stare at a photo, enlarged to maximum pixels, and wonder, is that DS/DD? That looks like his/her ear, eyes, freckles...You will find someone who is distinctive in some way; red hair, freckles, glasses that is near 'your' basic; that person will be your favorite basic of all time! I sought THAT basic out at parents weekend, probably freaked her out when I told her that I used her to find my DS and thanked her for being so distinctive. Ha ha. It is quite a Ride! I'm looking forward to it again!

Remember; part of BCT is to break everyone down to the lowest common denominator. To teach them to find what they have in common and work as a team.

So, why do I bring this up? Because part of that means "THEY ALL LOOK ALIKE".

Can't tell you how many times my wife and I were looking at webguy photos with one of us saying: "Look, it's Jeremy". And the other saying: "No it's not".

Basically; it's the 21st Century Version of "WHERE'S WALDO". Have fun.

Mike

It is A LOT like "where's Waldo". They all look alike! All the young men have shaved heads and the girls have either similar length short hair or matching buns.

As soon as they in-process and are getting on the bus, key in on the color of the "card" hanging on their lanyard around their neck. Each squadron has a different color. For example, last year, Hellcats was yellow. It will make initially sifting through the 1000's of pictures easier.

One of my favorite pics was after DD completed the A-course. Her green camo ABUs were now dark brown, but she had a huge grin on her face. When I showed her the picture weeks later, her comment was, "Oh, that was after I washed off". Could have fooled me.

Parkmom, we did the exact same thing! Our DD's now roomie was a lot easier to spot than she was.

Same here Parkmom. There was a young lady in DS's squadron who had a particularly infectious smile and it seemed that the smile always showed up when Webbuy was around. Needless to say that smile was a clue that DS was likely in the pictures nearby, which greatly aided in searching page upon page of pictures. No question that having this visual "landmark" was a huge help when playing Where's Waldo. Since then we have gotten to know that young lady's family and I shared with them that their DD (and in particular her smile) was a huge help in finding DS.

"Beware of the Doppelganger." :biggrin:;):cool::bounce1:
