Not sure if this has been asked and answered, so please forgive me if it has. Does anyone know why some basic cadets have red (or other colored) dots on their name tags? I know the blue sashes indicate a medical condition or situation but dots?

Thank you!

Could you link to an example? (Though I'm sure eagle will respond with the answer)

honestly i have no idea. i think it was something during inprocessing because some people had it and others didn't. as a flight commander, i know nothing about it, so it can't be anything to worry about.

i'll try to look into it, but no guarantees. i'll let ya know if i find anything

I asked my son this also; I showed him the photo. He says he vaguely remembers dots on his name tag. He believes the dots have some bearing on which flight you're with. Remember; there's 40 flights. 10 squadrons with 4 flights each. (After "A" day, those 40 flights become part of the 40 SQUADRONS academically). Anyway; he thinks they had reference to "A", "B", "C", or "D" flight. But he tries not to remember BCT if possible.

No, I don't think it has to do with flights. I noticed a few dots on my basics' lanyards, and they were different colors.

I have no idea, but it's not any concern to the flight staff.
