Because I find the process so fun...

CAPT,

I've been converted to the dark side though.
I will be applying to both USMA and USNA.

I have to see on the admin side if the Navy would release me to the Army.

ROCK ON CTNope! USMA & USNA. Why limit yourself?
I would reach out to USMA after 1 May and let them know that you exist.
They have a special outreach days through which soldiers complete the USMA application in a single day...it might be worth finding out if you could possibly attend one of those days...even if it meant taking a day/few days of leave.

Also, that issue of recommendations from your CoC, you might wish to talk about that with your RC, too.

CTNope, all of us on this forum admire your perseverance and wish you all the best! Hope you get to have a discussion with your USNA admission person to figure out what you need to have improved for next year and have the available time to do it given your schedule.

If you're accepted to an academy that trumps your enlistment.
Hopefully I will be able to welcome you to the Dark Side.

My DD and I were wondering that very same thing. As Navy enlisted, can you apply and be appointed to West Point and have your enlistment contract cancelled/transferred? I know you can to the Naval Academy but does it cross service lines?
