BFE Conditions

Having been fully qualified with an LOA/Nomination, I believe I have satisfied all conditions needed for an appointment. With this in mind, do I need to accept my offer of appointment before receiving the BFE or is it something that starts to be processed once one has satisfied all LOA conditions?

My son’s BFE came months after he accepted his appointment.

The BFE is a nice token. Your parents might frame it. Or you might shove it into a corner of your closet. But it has no official purpose beyond being a cool memento. Carry on, whether you’ve received it or not.

Once USMA offers the appointment the BFE will be mailed to you. My DS received his a few weeks after the appointment. He has until May to make a final decision (accept or decline).
