Is the BFE sent when you accept your appointment online, or is it sent as soon as you are appointed?
 
BFEs are typically mailed from WP on the Thursday or Friday the week an offer is given - typically Tuesdays. If a candidate is given an offer, or when they are released by Admissions (sometimes Tuesdays or Wednesdays) it shows up immediately in the Admissions system, but not viewable by the candidate until 72 hours later. That gives nominating authorities time to contact candidates directly. Check your portal Fridays or Saturdays.

Terminology check here: You are not appointed until you take the oath on the first day of plebe/doolie summer. Until then, you are the owner of an offer of appointment.

As for the BFE, you’ll receive it not long after receiving offer of appointment, but before being appointed, as some have noted above. If memory serves, DD received two BFEs. One had all the paperwork that needed completing within a few weeks. The other had the snazzy (albeit faux leather) portfolio with certificate. Both very cool.
