I was thinking the same thing. I really think if they are having one today, it would be the last one.

Is it known that there is, indeed, a board meeting today? Or is this just a general assumption?

Yes ..Board meets Thursday, but I would suspect that the Board has already made the qualification decision by now...its really up to those paring Nominations and 3Q applicants by this point.

So what is your opinion on those still CPR? If they decline a candidate, do they let them know right away?

I suspect the board met today to finish any applications. I also agree that most of them are probably with the Nom & appointment group for slating. Hang in there, the wait is almost over.

What do you know about the prep school possibles? Will they learn anything by April 15th?

Most will know one way or another by the 15th. If you don't hear by then admissions will usually speak with you and keep in touch. It is rare, but does happen to a few each year.

There are different two departments that work together. The board says accepted, declined or wait list, then it is sent to the Nominations & appointments department to match where the candidate will be slated. e.g Being charged to your nomination source.

The Admissions Board only determines the whole person qualification (1 of the 3 Q's) and the Admissions Office (Nominations and Appointments) makes appointments.

Foundation sponsored students were told Admissions not reviewing their files until week of April 17th! That's late

So does that mean they are going to put those candidates on a wait-list or leave them CPR come the 15th?

Foundation students are reviewed as a group. If they have done OK academically, passed the PFT (they take this vs. the CFA) and kept their noses clean, they are offered an appointment. They all know this is what happens and the day it happens. Thus, they aren't really CPR or WL -- kind of a special status. I assume the same or similar process occurs with NAPSters.

As for any candidates not NAPS or Foundation (sponsored) who don't hear by April 15th, they are still CPR. The "wait list" is for those who have been reviewed and placed on the wait list. It's an affirmative decision.
