C/O '26 parents - place to commiserate and share. Roller coaster for the next 3 years!

Last week DD had first SIQ day since I-day. IV for dehydration… food poisoning maybe??? Not sure. Back to the grind the following day. Sitting good with grades headed into finals, let’s hope they stand. Summer is still up in air, things may juggle a bit. Doesn’t matter because she’s not coming west for any time any way = sad mom

In person call from the dude for my b-day this evening. He gave me a USNA tumbler over the weekend (which will get a hefty serving of the Macallan Classic Cut tonight) and a US Navy license plate frame for the Ducati.

They have a motivational brief tonight from their keynote speaker for '26. He's not super happy about it aa he has a ton of Physics work to do.

Suck it up, buttercup! :p

Another weekend with the dude. Starting to feel like he's just a commuter student. ;)

Last three days of class! He had his last test in Fundamentals of Math, which he said he didn't feel great about, but at least it is done. His first exam is this Friday, and he finishes up on the 8th in the afternoon before he comes home for a few days of leave. He is staying at the Yard this coming weekend to buckle down and study. He left his personal laptop at home so as not to be tempted to just play video games for the next week. But, he does have his PS4 there ....... so kinda defeats the purpose!! :p

gotta love "Fun Math" :groupwave:

Yeah, not one of his favorite classes. ;) He was doing okay in it up until this latest exam.

He said there is some discussion of dropping the class from the curriculum. :bleh2:

(Of course, that would happen after he took it!).

Last exam tomorrow! Physics II. Then, he'll come home for a few days before commissioning activities kick in. Block 1 leave as well (for now).

It's almost real ....... 2/7 in just a few months!
2/7 is so intentional. They have 2yrs under their belt. Have thought LOTS about service assignment (and seen disappointed mates). Most likely experienced the death of a classmate. All these things make it more real. This is truly their decision and commitment to what they will do. They will also experience classmates who don’t sign. Some a surprise, some not. A lot of thought has gone into this decision to sign, or not. Bittersweet.

Talked to DS briefly yesterday. Has 2 exams today, 1 tomorrow, and last one Thursday. He doesn't get any leave because he has an internship that is a "choice". I'm glad he is doing it! However, sad not to see him. I look forward to hearing more about his summer. He has detailer training 0 block, cruise 1st block, internship 2nd block, and 3rd block detailing. Busy, Busy, Busy! ⚓:wow:
