Looking for information in regards to a cadet food box. I’ve read about an alumni organization that will sell a special box around the size of a shoe box either at Indoc or Parents weekend. This box can hold the personal food items (non perishable) for the cadet in a common location. They should have access to it during the regular school year.
Is this true? When do we action this. What kind of food are you allowed? Appreciate any insight.

The kinds of items your plebe can have after INDOC varies quite a bit by company and by who (what PC) specifically is in charge of them. It does no good to give a general answer here because it will differ for everyone. The specific rule is only "healthy" snacks are allowed. The usual list referred to is the NCAA approved snack list which you can find online. Your plebe will have a "personal drawer" that no one is allowed to look in (absent unusual circumstances like suspected drug or alcohol possession). They can keep their desired food items there. I routinely send my daughter candy, healthy snacks, and microwavable meals for when she misses dinner due to other commitments. I would wait until after INDOC and let your plebe take the lead on what he or she wants and can get away with.

What is the shoe “box” that one of the Alumni sells at Indoc or Parents weekend? Appreciate your insight.

Sorry. No idea. I don't know why you would need a special box. Maybe someone else can chime in.

^ like KPmom said, we have personal drawers where we can keep our food. Candy and unhealthy stuff is frowned upon if left out in the open, but having candy and stuff in the drawer isn’t a problem.

I'm a graduate from many years back and active in Alumni activities. I have never heard of a "cadet food box". Many years ago you were allowed to have a single shoebox for personal items. That box and contents was private and not subject to inspection except as someone said, suspicion of drugs, liquor, etc.
