After reading this forum, I've read that some of you have actually called your MOC about your admissions status. Is this true? Should I do the same? (I haven't heard anything, triple qualified w/nom) If yes, what should I say?

I THINK people have said that their MOC may call them to notify them of an appointment. USNA notifies MOCs of appointments so that the MOC can place a congratulatory call. A few days after notifying your MOC, USNA sends you the BFE.

However, MOCs don't as a general rule, know the status of their nominees. In other words, they only know who has been offered an appointment, not necessarily who is still waiting, has been turned down, etc. I suppose they could find out but I'm not sure they do.

Thus, I'm not sure that calling your MOC will do much good unless you have been offered an appointment within the past few days and just haven't received your BFE.

I've heard not all MOC's call their candidates to congradulate them. If that's the case would you recommend against sending an email inquiring as to whether or not they can give insight as to whether I've been appointed but just haven't heard yet?

It is true that many MOCs don't call. Whether or not they call you does NOT affect the timing of an appointment, if one is coming.

As for whether to email your MOC . . . I guess there's no reason not to other than you may annoy the person who has to respond to the email (and who probably knows nothing).

I believe what you have read here is that some candidates have called their nominating MOC to determine if the MOC has had a candidate recieve an appointment. Not to find out infrmation on their standing with admissions.

Some have said their MOC hasn't had word on anyone yet.

Give them a call.
