Can I change the information on a complete Application?

I accidentally said on my USNA application that I took the SAT with accommodations but when asked which test I entered "N/A". Will this be a problem? It was an accident and I never took the SAT with any accommodations. Can I get this changed? My application is complete and it is under review. Thank you.

I would recommend contacting you admissions rep. That is something you would for sure want correct on your application. You don’t get accommodations at USNA.

Go to the live chat accessible in the Admissions pages; they are usually up at noon ET for an hour or so. Have your candidate number handy. See if you can get it solved there. Take notes on who you talk to.

If you are unable to achieve what is needed on the live chat, you ought to email your Admissions Officer to inform him/her of the error and inquire how to correct the issue.

Bet you can find it by googling “USNA Admissions.” It’s a blue chat widget on all the pages you have been reviewing as you researched the application process.
I just checked. They are live right now.

Yes. My son’s classes he registered for in spring all changed over summer and his schedule had 2 classes happening at the same time etc. He had to switch some classes and he emailed his admissions officer to let them know. They said they changed it for him, no problem.

If I can make a suggestion related to this issue…highly recommend candidates not submit application pieces (i.e. personal data module, essay prompt, candidate activities record, etc) at the same time they are drafting it. Save the initial inputs, rest on it for a day or two…then re-review to catch potential errors/mistakes with a clearer mind. There honestly isn’t a huge hurry to get it in at this point.

This is so true of so many components of the application. Breathe. Write the essay, answer the prompt. Sleep on it. Any application prior to Halloween would be considered very early. Better to have a quality application than a rushed sloppy one.

I am having a hard time understanding this mistake. A change in courses is one thing and is valid to request a modification, but how do you accidentally select SAT with Accommodations? I hope you can change it - but let this be a lesson to you - don't be in such a rush to hit submit. Final is final.

This is a very important question. Son has been trying to get the application submitted so he would not be stuck doing everything last minute and blowing a deadline. After he submitted, he got a national award that we would like to update his application with, but we heard that final is final.

Did he hear that “final is final” direct from Admissions? If not, time for him to research.

If he goes to primary official sources he can get an accurate answer. USNA Admissions has a daily live chat with an Admissions officer most days at noon ET, accessible from the Admissions web page, the blue chat widget. He can ask there or use his other Admissions contacts.

That is a good point, the Admission officer said something about no changes afyer submission but it was more implied/vague rather than a bright red line statement. I'll have him reach out to ask if he can add it and they can say yes or no.

It’s always worth asking. I would think some sections are definitely final, but others might have a crack in the door.
