During NASS some people mentioned a candidate visit. I was wondering about those. Are they only for recruited athletes? If not how can I get one? How long do they last? What are they like?
Any information about these seemingly mysterious excursions to USNA would be exceedingly appreciated.
Thanks in Advance!!

There is nothing secret or mysterious... There are numerous threads about Candidate Visitor Weekends on SAF. Typically, Admissions sends offers to promising Candidates. Ask your BGO, and if he/she thinks its warranted , they can make a recommendation to Admissions.

I'll let others weigh in on details..

Since OP went to NASS, he/she may not be offered a Candidate Visit, unless Admissions really, really wants that candidate. That does not mean that all who get Candidate Visitor Weekend are a shoe in. It doesn't hurt to ask. Old Navy BGO has a good recommendation. Talk to your BGO.

On Wednesday, my daughter and I were told that NASS participants were not typically offered CVWs in the past, because NASS kids had already spent time on the Yard. We were told that this year NASS participants can get CVW offers so they can spend time overnight as NASS was held virtually. The admissions person asked for my daughter's email address.
