Cargo ship STUCK and blocking Egypt's Suez Canal

When I worked as a field surveyor for ABS, more than half of the ships I surveyed were not US flag.
It's also not that unusual for US flag ships to be classed by DNV/GL or Lloyds Registry.. I believe some of the APL US flag ships are classed by DNV.

They finally got the car home after the accident and is Dad gonna be mad. Look at that dent!

Timely. My last year spring students who spent a week on this current event were discussing it today. One even mentioned another canal blockage. All of them could remember details and could list supply chain issues. I was so happy and proud of them learning from a real time event that initially they thought didn’t have any effect on them.

And you’re right @StPaulDad, dad is not going to be happy.

Well this didn’t age well….a year later, another Evergreen ship stuck. This time in the Chesapeake Bay.

DS confirms Mids have seen it, on YP’s.

Yeah, she's been aground there for almost two weeks just outside the Craighill Channel between buoys R-14 and R-16.. She was drawing 13 meters [42.5 ft.] when she took the strand in an area where the water depth is about 20 ft. They're working on trying to get her free by dredging around her. They might have to wait for spring tides on the 16th of April to pull her out of the mud. Not good, but at least she's not blocking the channel up to Baltimore..
