Ok thank you, and congratulations to your DS!My DS Rugby coach did his and he is now at BCT so a coach works.
Thank you for the information, I will ask my ALO for clarification. You will be required to contact you ALO this cycle and work with him/her closely as part of your admissions application. Query them! I do CFA's all the time for candidates for all the SA's that require it. I have a double hit: ALO and AFJROTC instructor!
I've had coaches do them for me as well.
Nothing to worry about.

Although coaches are not listed as an option to be an examiner for the CFA, would it be possible for my school coach to be the examiner for my CFA? Or is this definitely not an option?
Hi! I emailed my ALO and he asked my admissions counselor who said that it was ok for me to use my coach. You might want to have your DS contact his ALO to ask just in case but that was what mine told me. Good luck to your DS!Did you get any clarification on this topic? My DS is a varsity athlete at a local college (he is a reapplicant) and there are not traditional PE instructors at the college... He was hoping he could use the wrestling coach. His ALO is about 3 hours away and he would prefer not to travel. Just curious if you received any word.
Thank you.
Thank you so much! I think he already did and we are just waiting on a response.Hi! I emailed my ALO and he asked my admissions counselor who said that it was ok for me to use my coach. Physical Requirements | U.S. Air Force Academy
The physical requirements for Air Force Academy admissions include satisfactory completion of the Candidate Fitness Assessment (CFA).www.academyadmissions.com
"Your examination may be administered by any physical education teacher, Service Academy Liaison Officer (ALO) or JROTC instructor. Any active-duty commissioned officer may administer the CFA for service members. It is your responsibility to arrange for a qualified person to conduct your examination."
I had a friend of mine who was a varsity wrestling coach at a local high school. He performed the CFA for my DS and one other who was attempting to go to USNA so it does NOT have to be a coach at your own high school but it does have to be a coach or PE teacher.
There may be nothing that says explicitly he can’t do it, the question is, should he. I think the assumption (at least mine, FWIW) is a family member is not appropriate, and that is his primary relationship to you. Not that he would not do an ethical, by-the-book administration, but again, should he. If a PE teacher is not available at all, or you can’t find a coach, the good news is your dad probably has plenty of officers at his duty station that would probably be willing, especially any SA grad familiar with the requirement.my school currently is transitioning between PE teachers, would it be unethical to have my father who is an active duty commissioned officer do it? Or is there anything that says he can’t do it?
The AIR FORCE ACADEMY CANDIDATE FITNESS ASSESSMENT WORKSHEET clearly states that a family member may not administer the CFA.my school currently is transitioning between PE teachers, would it be unethical to have my father who is an active duty commissioned officer do it? Or is there anything that says he can’t do it?

I’m pretty sure each SA has a stipulation that NO family member can administer the test. I would view that as ‘cheating’.my school currently is transitioning between PE teachers, would it be unethical to have my father who is an active duty commissioned officer do it? Or is there anything that says he can’t do it?
