I have been delaying the CFA due to a high ankle sprain I got during football season. Should I submit or try to improve? This is the only item not completed on my application.

Thanks for any suggestions.

The only issue on there that I see is the mile, it is high. Do you think you can lower it, or is that the best it will ever be?

It can be much better. I had to run in the gym which required many turns around the basketball court. Raining much to hard outside to run. In addition, I am recovering from a high ankle sprain. I just wanted to know if it would be to my benefit to wait a couple of more weeks before I submit the score with better results. By then, my ankle should be much improved which I am sure would help my run time.

Just try to lower your mile time to atleast the 7 minute range if possible. All your other scores are fine. If you can, try to max situps also... That is the easiest event to max (for most people) and get full points on the PFT once you're here.

I can and will lower the mile time. Is it possible to be considered for a LOA if I wait two more weeks to complete my application??

Place the LOA out of your mind. I think everyone is paying waaaaaaaaaayyyyyyy to much attention to this aspect of the process. I am not going to be rude, but remember only about 150 LOA's go out, less than 10% of the apptmts, ask yourself are your stats that great that you are in the top 150 of 3000 candidates with noms, and 1600 that will receive appts. The LOA is used as a recruitment tool, it is given to someone for athletics or with the out the door stats that they know will be offered an appt. Sometimes, candidates with LOA's for another SA will call the AFA and say I have an LOA from XYZ SA, I would like to know if there is a hance that you will give me one...few days later the LOA shows up because SA's are rivals, and if XYZ has given them one, then they don't want to lose them. Seriously, you are seeing the LOA's go out right now, and in the next few weeks you will start seeing the list change to apptmts. AGAIN, don't concern yourself with that because each slate is different, and the real date to keep your eye on is March for the mass mailing.

Place all of your energy in submitting the best CFA you can, so you will be the most competitive, nothing else.

I do agree that you should submit the best CFA you can. However, the CFA is a small part of your application. If I remember correctly it falls into a category weighted 10% along with your ALO interview and another thing or two. Therefore, there is something to be said for getting the application turned in. Get your mile time down hopefully to around 7 minutes or better. Try to get some more situps (that's a bonus). Maintain or improve on your other current scores and then submit. Waiting too long just to get a couple extra pushups is not worth it.

The CFA is a part of the 20% of the WCS. As I have stated before, the one good aspect about the CFA is you have complete control. Eventually, there will be a cadet that makes it in by a point or two on the WCS, do you want it to be you that loses because of the CFA?

I feel good about these scores and will submit today.

BB Throw 70
Pull Ups 20 I know the max is 18
Shuttle Run 8.3
Sit Ups 86
Push Ups 70
Mile Run 7:22

Other than the mile, I think I did really good. Mile, in my opinion was ok and I can improve that time with extra running. I have just gotten through with football.

Let me know what yall think.
