Here are my scores from the CFA I just took. I have an LOA with the Oct. 15 deadline so I need to submit scores soon but I'm wondering whether these look passing. I've practice a lot especially the last three but I'm not quite avg. on them.

B-Ball Throw75
Pull-Ups11
Shuttle8.3
Sit-Ups64Not quite avg. but close enough to pass. I've practiced a lot of them so this isn't horrible and I'll continue to get better at it
Push-Ups51Same here as in sit-ups but slightly closer to avg.
Mile7:39Obviously not a great time in comparison to the mile but it's my biggest weakness and something I am continuing to work on.

I've only really ever done short distance sprints so running a mile took quite a bit of training. I'm still not where I want/need to be by Beast but my question is if these scores are ready to submit. As I mentioned above I have an LOA with the Oct. 15 deadline so it's probably time I go ahead and submit my best.

I would redo your test. You want all your events to be above average, especially that mile

Only you can answer this question. Was that your best effort? Did you have anything left in the tank? Are you injured? Are you ill? Will prepping for another week make a significant difference? Is weather a factor where you live? Do you have enough buffer time to take it yet again if the next try isn’t up to snuff? How you answer these should determine your next steps.

Like MidCakePa said, focusing on the best effort aspect can help. I took the CFA at the end of July and threw up 3-4 times right before the mile, despite having practiced and prepared for months. I think it took me leaving a mental comfort zone and pushing myself to an absolute breaking point to get there. It payed off as my scores were all strong but I don't think I would have done as well as I did if I didn't push myself to that breaking point.

If you feel like you could do better than do it again. It is all mental (as stated above). Whether it is a couple of seconds or a few minutes off, anything that is closer to that average is going to look better. Just push yourself to the best of your ability and I bet you'll do just fine.

I think you should submit your scores. The LOA will give you a huge cushion on the scores (USMA wants you) and I don’t think the mile time is disqualifying. Secondly, how could you possibly improve the mile in 11 days? Not likely. Submit and move on
