CFA-SLS

While at SLS they encouraged the candidates that if they thought they could do better than they had that they SHOULD take the CFA again at home, my son found some resistance from them when he did so. He went to WP SLS right after the week at NASS, and was tired and scored much lower at that second CFA (even though he still passed all the events). Since he wanted to retake it anyway (although he'd done well at Navy, he'd slipped both times on his shuttle run and knew he could do much better), he did over the summer with his PE teacher.

However, when he called his RC with the new scores and tried to get info on how to submit them, they kept telling him "But you PASSED - you don't NEED to take it again" and essentially telling him not to bother. He insisted and they finally allowed him to submit them, but those scores never showed up on the portal. Since he dropped the WP application not too much afterwards once he had the LOA from Navy, it wasn't a big issue for him, but it was frustrating overall.

My understanding is the same as stated above. If you submit scores and they are not passing in any area, you will be asked (or allowed) to retake. But if you submit them officially, then you can not submit new scores without permission from WP beforehand (generally them asking you to because of a low score in one area). SLS will count as an official CFA, but you should be allowed to submit an additional score if you wish. However - in our case at least - it wasn't easy!
