CFAs

Show her this forum. This thread. She shouldn’t wait to train until her BGO tells her. She is loosing precious time as it doesn’t happen overnight.

Alternately, have her email her BGO and inquire today. S/he will give it to her straight. BTW, lots of BGOS here!!

The dad in me wants your DD to succeed and fulfill her dreams. The track coach in me wants her to start training now and bring that 10:30 mile time down to 8:00 minutes which requires months of training. The academy does look for well-rounded candidates. My DD's Plebe Summer roommate plays the harp and her mother transported it to Annapolis at Plebe Parents Weekend. Many midshipmen have amazing and diverse talents but all are in top physical condition. The BGO will ask about physical training and plans for retaking the CFA. It would be better for your DD to have a physical training plan in place at the time of the interview. I wish your DD success with her application.

My DD’s admission counselor emailed her last week and said even though my DD passed she recommended that she retake her CFA. My daughter said she would and AC replied that she would hold my daughter’s application until she repeated it. I don’t know when she will find the time either but she knows she has to if she wants a shot at USNA. These are her scores to compare. She took it at NASS, knows she can do a lot better on the mile and working to get that pull up.

Push ups 50
Sit ups 45
Flex arm hang 5 seconds
Mile 7:35
Shuttle 10.11
Basketball 28
Can you clarify this? She passed the CFA with a 5 sec FAH? Is this for the class of 2024? This is the area of the CFA that is troubling us most in our house.
