CG Commandant should be full member of Joint Chiefs

Back when I was in Bayou Country, they were called "Jack Up Rigs". They were mobile platforms to re-supply, repair fixed apparatus, and do general maintenance on oil platforms. They were normally limited to water not deeper than 100ft. Not sure if the "nomenclature" has changed, but they are self propelled, have navigation equipment with a pilothouse, and when they get to where they are going they drop the "spuds" into the bottom and literally "jack-up" the rig to get it free of the water. They used to be used mainly for inshore shallow water work, but whenever the weather came up, if they could not "jack-up" they usually had a really tough time and would capsize or sink. Back in the day, that was why the CG had WPB's stationed at almost every major waterway, because of the oil industry and weather issues.
