I know that this is not a definite answer and admissions have their own process, but would like to know if I at least stand a chance. I am a junior in HS and looking to improve my chances.
Academics
-3.9 unweighted
-4.3 weighted
-1480 SAT
-Taken all honors classes plus 6 AP classes (AP phyc, AP computer science, AP calculus, AP environmental science, AP world history, AP US History)
-Top 10% of class
-4 years of Spanish
- Am taking 2 dual enrollment classes at my local CC
Extracurricular
- Play varsity hockey for 3 years (Assistant Captain and probably be Captain my senior year)
- Play Travel Hockey
- Participate in CAP
- Have over 140 volunteer hours (Most feeding the homeless and cleanups)
- tutor kids for math after school
-In NHS
Leadership
- Have Mitchell award in Cap and have held leadership positions at summer programs
- volunteer at summer camps and am a camp counselor
- Attended Rising stars (A leadership program offered by my local law enforcement)
-Attended boys state
- Hold Officer Position in FBLA
- Coach youth hockey

You definitely have a chance! Academics, extracurriculars, and leadership all look good! Just keep working on those areas, as well as training for the CFA, and work hard on prepping for nomination interviews once it gets closer to that time.

I'm confused, didn't you state in other posts that you are currently a freshman in high school? Or are you posting this thread to see your chances for future reference? Besides that, with those stats as a junior (without the interviews and the CFA in mind), you would be competitive for an academy.

My biggest recommendation would be honesty in all you do...even when posting on anonymous forums. I don't know if you're a freshman or junior, if you've actually attended boys state or just hope to in the future, if you've actually joined CAP or just considering it, if you've actually played Varsity hockey or you just think you will in the future. Your application process will be extremely in depth with essays, interviews, personal recommendations, and school confirmation of your activities listed on your resume. If there are inconsistencies or exaggerations, your chance will be about 0%. I would study the USAFA motto to begin with. If your post above was meant to be a "what if" scenario based on your goals for the next 3 years, make that clear. No one can say 100% if your resume will get you in or not.

My son spent 3 years making educational and athletic decisions he felt would best prepare him for USAFA. He took the hardest English class offered at his school, pretty much guaranteed not to make an A, and mainrained a B+, but learned so much more than he would have in the easier class with a guaranteed A for just turning in assignments. This teacher was also a required recommendation and knew how hard he worked. He got permission to skip Pre- Calulus so he could take calculus his senior year and be better prepared for doolie year. He joined cross country not because he was a superb runner, but because our team didn't have enough boys to compete as a team and he wanted to support his school and the other athletes as well as train for the physical demands at USAFA. These are just a few examples of how he prepared.

Was his resume perfect? No. Did he receive an appointment? Yes. (For the record, he is not a member of CAP, but was a 3 sport Varsity athlete, captain of 2 teams, and attended Boys State after his junior year.)

Spend more time working to improve your resume than focusing on hypothetical "what ifs" and make sure your character is reputable.

I thought the same thing. This is another post, "I am currently a freshman in hs and dream to going to the academy I have straight A’s. I’m a very good test taker and play JV hockey and am on a club team. Next year I’m guaranteed a spot on varsity. I am thinking about joining CAP and am exploring summer volunteer opportunities. Any advice?"

Are you a junior or freshman (as stated in a few other posts)? Are you on varsity or jv? Confusing. This is copied from your other post.

Tips for HS student

@Momto5 nailed it: this is competitive in more ways than just hitting the right checkboxes on a transcript. Act with integrity if for no other reason than most people are bad at subterfuge. (Pro tip: It takes exactly two clicks, no typing, to get a list of your posts.)

EDIT: This is coming off too harsh. Yes, that resume would look good, but cramming all those items into the next two years is probably not going to happen. Choose activities that you have real interest in so that you can talk about them with passion, choose the harder academic path and learn to get help as you encounter difficulties, lead where possible and keep your feet moving. It's a long journey.

When I was thirteen, I posted on this forum saying I was sixteen so people would (in my mind) take me more seriously. What I didn't realize was in my haste to "fit in" to this online community, I was ignoring all the real wisdom those on this forum had for me.

You don't have to make yourself appear stronger, smarter, or older than you actually are here, people will help you no matter what.

This forum is not one of those gimmicky chancing engines, putting yourself out there as someone you aren't wastes real peoples time. Time that could be spent helping the real you :)

A better way to phrase this would be "I'm a freshman right now... these are my plans... what do you think?"
