Hello everyone,
I am currently a high school junior and my big dream is to attend the USNA. I'm going to begin my application soon and I'm curious to see if you guys have any tips for me. My situation differs from the usual USNA applicant by the fact that I am pursuing my HS career in Portugal. However I am still eligible for all my MOC noms and plan to apply to all of them.
Here is a short list of my qualities as an applicant:

SAT score: 1460 in 1600
School: 19.7 unweighted average in a possible 20, no AP or Honor classes available
Courses in Math, Physics and Chemistry, Descriptive Geometry, Portuguese, English, etc..

8th place in Portuguese National Cadet Ranking in fencing (foil)
Compete internationally

ECA: church group, volunteering, and helping as assistant coach at my fencing club with the younger children. During the summer I'm going to work as a counsler (CIT) at a camp (4 weeks)
Attending NASS 2018 session 1

I would be grateful for any tips and any opinions on how I'm doing so far. Thank you! :)

There are threads, recent ones and older ones, that give good general advice for new candidates. I would type out my advice but I spent time doing it for a thread just a few days ago and I’m feeling lazy- scroll through and check them out.

Your stats are good. There’s no way to chance people because the academies can accept or deny people for unknown or even bizarre reasons. For right now, going to NASS is your best tool to impress mids. It has no bearing on your acceptance, but if you stick out and get awarded the most outstanding candidate for that week, for instance, that’s a point on your whole person score. The best thing to do is just do well on your CFA and try your best to lead the group for s good write up. A bad write up at NASS for little tiny things she did kept my sister out of the academy. Your SAT is good but there is always room for improvement! Keep up the hard work.

Some Congressional districts are more competirive than others. So, it depends.
Unfortunately, we lost be just outside of DC with dense military presence & just 45 mins from Annapolis. A USNA nomination is like winning Powerball lottery.

Great advice from Hopeful-Dad... but at this stage, the most significant thing you can do to improve your WCS is study and see if another round of SAT tests will boost your scores a bit.

If your dream is to attend USNA, do not let the opinion of anyone on this forum (me included) dissuade you from pursuing this dream. Keep out of trouble, practice for the CFA, submit your application early, and have viable Plan Bs and Plan Cs in place. Good luck...
