Chatter, Congrats & Questions 2026 USCGA Appointment Thread

Also many recruited athletes wind up in prep school programs, so they haven’t heard yet.
Unfortunately, none of the prep schools offer the sport my DD participates in, so a prep school would mean a full year off of her sport. That would be tough. Hoping it all works out. It can be hard to be patient at times, but clearly the admissions board has a huge task at hand when deciding who to offer an appointment to.

Will appointments start going back out today? Also, are appointments sent Mon-Sun?

Are there any recruited athletes here that have NOT yet heard if they have received an appointment?
Hi! I'm a recruited athlete and I haven't heard yet. I submitted my application only a few days before the deadline so I hope that's why I haven't heard anything

New to this process, but notifications in Bears Den seem to be available M-F. I think some people have received calls from coaches on a weekend saying that they will be receiving an appointment, but that is not an official appointment. It is official once it is listed in your Bears Den.

Still in regular communication with the coach. AO has never replied to any emails.

Yes, my check mark still says "ready for review".
That is odd that your AO has not replied at all. However, keep in mind that there are only 5 AOs total, so I'm sure they are busy. Some of the AOs welcome calls, so you can always try calling if you have something important to ask or that you want to add to your application package.

Where you finding the "ready for view" checkmark?
After you login to https://uscga.askadmissions.net/vip/Default.aspx
The lower right quadrant of the main page is called "Application Checklist"
At the bottom of the list there is a section called "Status"

Status
☑️ Application Complete - Ready for Review
🔲 Cadet Candidate Evaluation Board Review Complete

For those who have not yet heard if they have received an appointment or not, when did you submit your EA application?

Oct 4th. However, some recommendations were not received by Admissions until 10/11. My DD goes to a high school with 605 seniors so Teachers and Counselors have a lot to juggle.

I was originally going to submit for RA, but one of the admissions officers visited the school I am at for self-prep and encouraged me to apply for EA. So I got everything in 16 Oct 2021, all LORs were already in. I guess I'll know soon enough,,,EA, deferred to RA.

Being deferred to RA certainly is better than being denied, but not sure I can handle more months of this waiting game lol!

Out of curiosity, how many emails have you sent your AO and when? I have emailed my AO several times over the past months without receiving a response. Called Admissions recently to ask a question regarding my application and no answer.
