Class of 2015 - Mailbox Stalkers Club

Just curious....has anyone been accepted to Virginia Tech Engineering on this thread who plans to attend VT as "plan b"? That is DS's plan B.

I was recently accepted to VT as a freshman cadet but I applied for management not engineering.

OK, it's Wednesday. Still a bit early (should be prime time next week), but you never know when we might come accross a couple of strays. Good luck folks!

I've been accepted to Embry Riddle, Prescott, to pursue the Aerospace Engineering major and the Flight minor with an ROTC Scholarship - the ideal backup choice for me, a pilot wannabe! Anyone else applied to ERAU?

You should go to the Daytona Beach campus

Great job on the ROTC scholarship! ERAU is a very well respected institution. My DS is not a techie, most likely sociology, with East Asian studies. We have so far heard back from colleges in the north east where we live, including one SMC - Norwich. Solid plan C. Still waiting on AFROTC (four torturous boards) as the plan B.

So I have been stalking the online admission's page and nothing has changed...even though my son got a waiver and a note saying that he is a candidate it still says "disqualified" online...so I guess I need to forget about the online admission's page and only stalk the mailbox with him!!!
Like we say in Portuguese..."hope is the last thing to die"...we are still hoping!

My understanding is that the online info lags a bit, but it would not hurt to call the admissions counselor and ask about it. My suspicion is that once the BFE's start moving enmasse, there will be huge variations in notifications. i.e. hearing from your MOC, seeing changes online, and getting BFE's. No telling which will come first.

"falconfamily" r u a candidate or a parent?
Parent - just like yourself. The reason I started this thread is to allow some space for others like my DS and I to hangout with folks in the same situation.

Well I wish all the best to your son (or daughter?)...it has been a very bumpy and tiring road for us (torture for me as a mom)...but at the end I believe that we all have learned something...with a "yes" or a "no" answer. :thumb:
Thank you for the answer.

my sister and i have a really great relationship, but it does include a somewhat insane desire by both of us to prank the other whenever possible, so i couldnt be mad at her.

but i guarantee you i'm getting her back SO BAD for this. any suggestions?
Nothing that can be printed here! ::rant2::

Mail just in.....nothing for DS but an envelope that states on the outside "Improve Your SAT Scores!" Is that an OMEN? Why do they think that DS needs to improve his test scores? Did the AFA ASK this company to send this to DS? ahhhhh!!!!! See where moms minds go when left to our own devices! (and I'm kidding by the way...but not about getting the envelope!)

Mail woes...

That's as frustrating as getting a BFE - only to discover that it's really one of those annual insurance policy packets...

Replace her Shampoo with Nair. Maybe that'll even the field.
I'm kidding though, she fought you with psychological warfare so you should return it the same way.

sorry, just know I realized that DS stands for dear son. I'm looking for a list of acronyms so i can learn the "language"...?
Waiting to get home and stalk the mailbox...and be tortured some more.

I didn't ready whole thread but thought some people would enjoy this on here. I graduated last year and went to NWP ( falcon scholarship) so am at college this semester. I was stalking the mailbox back in the beginning of march and when my prep school friends started hearing back I got anxious. Then the day my friend from California (same state as me) got his BFE I thought ah hope mine comes today. Anyway, I checked on my way to class at 1 pm and nothing. In the middle of class (2:30) I get a picture text from my dad saying "offer of appointment enclosed" I screamed incredibly loud and everyone stared but I didn't care I finally got in USAFA!! The 1 hr 30 min wait for class to be over was terrible!! Anyway that my story lol. But I would have to agree be prepared for a back up plan. I though I was a shoe in last year an my rejection left me shocked. I would suggest prep school to anyone who might receive a TWE. But best of luck to everyone! Hope to see you guys there June 23!! Only 97 days and a wake up!!
