Joining the mail box stalking today, catching up on everyones news...cleaning, appletinis etc. Thanks Pima and Mattsmom for the upadated news of BFE mailout and info-etc. I am off today from work and likewise others my mind has not been at work but anxiously waiting the USAFA BFE it is getting so close. #2 DS has a great plan b, that should make me relax alittle. I have been reading the threads to see if the letters are out there to gauge the possible of us hearing anynews. Being up here in AK mail takes awhile so hopefully Tuesday or Wednesday will bring us some news. Have great weekend everyone!
I would suspect that the TWE coming out right now are for candidates with noms that were not deemed 3 Q. Which would be @ 1000-1200 of the candidates with noms.
Q: Aren't all candidates currently awaiting BFEs 3 Qd? Or to put it another way, if a nominated candidate wasn't 3 Qd, wouldn't the AFA have already made that information known to the candidate?
For instance, I know my son is medically qualified since he received a card from AFA (or was it DODMERB?, I forget) that he is medically qualified. No ambiguity there.
I know my son is academically qualified since his last ACT scores were deemed 'competitive' and he was able to proceed with his application (after his first go-round his junior year were deemed 'not competitive'). He has a 4.0 GPA in an excellent public HS, so I assume he is academically qualified on that count.
I know some of his CFA scores were below the mean, some were well above the mean, but we have not received any correspondence that his low scores were so low as to disqualify him.
I assume the AFA would have made that information known, but maybe not. I'm sure those low scores hurt his WCS, but if he isn't physically qualified because of his CFA, I would think that is something he would have been told.
Just wondering....
yes!!!! you made my day with this comment.
Watch out for dogs!mailbox was empty today...no BFE...at least tomorrow I'm off from work...it is supposed to rain all day so I will purchase a new big umbrella and wait all morning...I might wear my son's ghillie suit so the neighbors won't think that I totally lost it...I will blend in with the grass and shrubs

Glad to meet you Cracker55!Greetings fellow stalkers:
I promised myself I wouldn't admit to it, but I have a problem. I am a Mailbox Stalker. I think this thread of "Stalkers Annonymous" is quite helpful in me taking the 12 steps.
1) I am a stalker
2) I am powerless over my stalking
3) I believe a Higher Power can help me with my stalking (AFA?)
well...I just got back from stalking the mailbox....nothing. A notice from the bank and an advertisement. Not even a single bill....certainly not a BFE nor a TWE.
I will go away now. I will come back tomorrow or perhaps Monday for the next meeting.
Just wait, the stalking never ends! After your sons and daughters receive their appointments, then you can become a Webguy stalker! Webguy is a wonderful man and his staff of photographers that USAFA allows on base to photograph the cadets during BCT.
Picture this...you either flew out for I day, or put your DD/DS on a plane, said your goodbyes, cried your tears...and then what? The house echoes. The grocery bill plummets. Their room is neat as a pin, and you're miserable! You have no daily contact with your child.
Webguy to the rescue! He posts thousands of photos (literally thousands) every day! He has a daily blog that he updates throughout the day letting you know what the cadets are doing that day, has funny commentary and contests, and posts photos and videos.
Your mailbox stalking will turn into Webguy stalking playing "Where's Waldo" every night, picking out your cadet from all the rest wearing the exact same uniforms and haircuts! They have forums so you can help spot someone elses kid, or call for a group SOS when you've gone three days and havent seen your child. You will be amazed at how good you become at identifying your son's elbow, or the back of his head. Webguy is from Jersey and loves Yoohoo and tastycakes. One of his photographers was homesick for Georgia. So a bunch of us stalkers started out doing each other sending packages to Webguy with our cadets name and squadron number hoping we'd see extra photos. (It was actually just a way to offer our profound thanks while giving us the illusion we were involved!) YooHoos, tastycakes, farm delivered Georgia peaches...it was a hoot. You guys will fit right in! The camraderie you feel here is just the beginning!
Best of luck to you all!
(Your second BFE, the one with all the forms and documents has the Association of Graduates info, and thats who sponsors Webguy.) No, I don't work for him, never met him...just eternally grateful he kept this empty nest mom sane during a rough time!
I route for all of you each day!

Welcome Cracker.
4th Step: Donuts and hot chocolate in the MailBox Stalker lounge. You can't miss the group. They look tired. We offer fun seminars in the Mailbox Stalker cyber cafe:
How to create a thread so popular even USNA comes and visits (welcome!) for comic relief.....
How to balance your job, younger children/siblings, clueless friends, and Plan for Option A-B-C-D-E-F and get excited about all of them for your kid's sake...
You get the drift. I started seeing posts on other threads of the new Class of 2016 pre-applicants asking questions. It could have been me a year ago. Identical. I FEEL each one of those posts. Anyway, best of luck. Keep hanging out with us as long as you like.
