Ive been stalking for the last year but made up my mind not to write anything till I get my BFE and I got it today!

P.S. so did my twin brother but he already accepted West Point so there still one more appointment for someone who is waiting :]

P.P.S CA 46 district but I think I was on the NWL because another guy who went to my school last year and went to Prep School and got the nom this year.
 
Hello stalker friends - didn't get the TWE but DH called the academy and confirmed that DS was qualified but 'no vacancy' this year for him. Congrats to all who are celebrating tonight and - to those in our corner - hugs. Told DS again how proud we are of his effort and know that this kid will always make us proud!!!

DS got a call from MOC (Congressman) last Tues, and then a call from Senator tonight...We thought that was unusual to get calls from both. Senator said his BFE was mailed on Friday, but it did not come today. Just to be sure the mailman knew his responsibility, we put up the sign below (even though DS says this is over the top...)

Has anyone from IL heard anything? Myself and all the other IL Candidates that I've talked to haven't heard anything at all...with the exception of my call to USAFA this evening...
 
DD received the dreaded TWE this afternoon. We remain ever hopeful for P-school, Falcon, or perhaps a late appointment. DS still stalking. Hoping we can end this torture with at least a 50% success rate! :smile:

AnxiousCandidateMom--that is the BEST picture EVER! Got a laugh over here in this house. DS would love if I did the same, however we are presidential and have no assurance of a BFE.
 
No news from Georgia...My Mom checks the mailbox while I'm at school and I constantly check my phone for a call...haha I'm going insane :yllol:
 
Very odd day for the usps mail, my postman did not show up today. :confused: I am thinking it may be because our mail comes up on Alaska Airlines and they had a computer glitch over the weekend which resulted in many flight cancellations etc. But I always thought mail would be sent up on next flight but I guess not. Well my stalking will continue till tomorrow, I am debating to come home for lunch to check the mail (usually I don't as two labs feel abandoned when I walk out minutes later). If I don't I won't be able to work in the afternoon productively constantly wondering "what if". Who am I kidding if there is a BFE I will be day dreaming mode and won't be productive just might as well stay home. If it is TWE the mode will be okay now we know the next step and can go forward (but it will be hard to stay focus still till the next day I am sure). DS#2 is at work tonight so he has no idea the mail did not come today. Tomorrow he gets out of school early so he may beat me to the mailbox! :shake: I guess that would be fair.:wink:

Odd no mail results from west coast, but I guess we will hear something tomorrow or later in the week. Goodnight!

Nothing in our Nevada mailbox. I noticed no Nevada appointments posted on the Appointments link, either...don't know what that means. Maybe our mail is really, Really slow!

Nothing here. As the days drag on, it feels like the outcome will be increasingly grim.

Oh well, we are prepared either way. Back up plan is ready to launch if needed.

I will be stalking tomorrow. Sorry to those who didn't make it. I understand the disappointment. It feels like infertility (something I struggled with for many years) and just waiting for that positive pregnancy test.

So, in the big picture...I am glad I was finally able to have my babies. Whether they get to an academy or not...at least I still have them. (DS is 6'2" and DD is 5'10" )

Getting the good news feels like hitting the lottery.

Congratulation's to ALL who received their appointment today!
One year and 25 days and DS's TWE came in the mail today:frown:
I'm so proud of him!!! He took it so well. He said," Mom, I have goals and it doesn't matter really what avenue I take to get to and live my dreams." He said," AFROTC, then AF." I gave him a hug anyway. he said, " Mom, really I'm fine!":wink: The he and my husband went out the door, in the back, and did their target practice.
I can't tell you how proud he and my husband are of him! He is a fine young man and he is right! He will obtain his goals and dreams, he is a go getter!!
Again, Congratulation's everyone, your children, no matter where they go to college are ALL amazing young people and we have every reason to be proud of them!!!!! Over and out, rangermom
ps.. I hope you do not mind if I stalk for a couple more days... I want to read about all of the fine men and women who do get their appointments, I feel like I know some of you:thumb:
 
Congratulations to all the BFE's! The TWEs are such a kick in the gut, and my heart broke reading some of the posts.

Here's an intersting fact about prep school:

The year at USAFAs prep school counts towards millitary retirement.
(The four years at USAFA do not count towards millitary retirement.)

So although a year seems like a big deal to some 18 year olds, they will really appreciate it when they get to retire a year earlier!

ymg and Tailwind, and all TWEs, my heart broke for you yesterday. I hope you let us know what route your DSs take. Being raised by parents like you, we know their journeys will be amazing. Big hugs your way!

I know of appointments in Princeville, Staunton, and Bloomington. At the Northern Illinois parents meeting for nominees a few weeks back, there were at least 4 others who had appointments.
