Congrats! :biggrin: Sounds like a few appointments are trickling out. :smile: Not getting my hopes up, but I'll take any chance I can get!

when did admissions counselors start calling people? I called and informed my counselor not the other way around. I knew first

Is email better? DS has yet to receive a phone call back from the two messages left for his counselor (one was at least two weeks ago). He has some updated stats (class rank & awards earned) and a question about three 8th grade grades on his transcript. Are those 8th grade - grades taken into account when both schools (in different states) agree they should not have transferred?

It's on his HS transcript. Only denoted by a tiny "j" for jr high. It was three honors classes that he received 88, 85, & 95 in. The only "B's on his entire HS transcript... It's affected his gpa and class rank at his HS. We were told if he had gone to HS in the state he went to jr high in they would have transferred with a ten point curve. His current HS takes them as is.
 
My portal was just updated and I was offered a spot on the wait list. Does anyone know anything about this wait list?
 
Damn no I was mistaken.

My brother got a TWE from USNA but did not get a TWE from USAFA; he only get the prep notification.

With that in mind I'm still wondering then; if the TWE for USAFA stated that they cannot offer you an appointment to USAFA but did not mention anything about prep school or falcon does that mean prep and falcon options are out or in?

My USNA letter states that I cannot be offered an appointment to USNA or get offered for the preparatory programs. USAFA did not state anything about prep or falcon.

My understanding is that the TWE addresses your appointment status. Any offers for USAFA Prep or Falcon will follow as a separate communication.

I thought the portal only updated on Sunday?? are you referring to your Air Force Academy application?

I believe being on the wait list means that, right now, there is no vacancy, but if some of the offers that have been made previously do not get accepted by the deadline (which I believe is April 15 for the ones recently sent) then, you may yet get an offer.

I'm confused about everything today on here.. I'll try not to think too hard about it. :scratch:

Anyways, didn't make it into U of M, so I'll be at Eastern Mich doing AFROTC if things don't work out with USAFA. :smile:

I believe the portal does only update on Sunday. Maybe he called his counselor and the counselor updated it early. (There's my attempt to rationalize his situation.)
 
Waitlisted

DS just got email offering a waitlist option. Went to the portal and accepted waitlist spot. The waitlist says he will know by May 15th. Just got to pray that people decide to take offers to other academies!

Congratulations to all those who have received appointments so far, and good luck to those of us still waiting and hoping!
 
Several months ago the portal would update every couple of days. I would try to view it before going to school(5:50 ish), and I would receive an error message because it was updating. This could have changed to only Sundays, but at one time weekdays were also update days.

That's just the AF servers syncing. The actual updates regarding appointments and such are said to come out only on Sundays. I'm up every morning around 4:30 and I see that message every morning.

Although from these posts today, I'm not so sure anymore! :smile: SPNU & SMNE for me today.

This could very well be the case as it's been quite some time since I looked in the morning.

Thank you for applying to the Class of 2016. Due to the record number of applications and reduced class size we are unable to offer you an appointment to the Class of 2016 at this time. However, your application was strong and we are able to offer you a spot on our wait list.
Please accept or decline our offer to be on the waitlist by April 21, 2012. If you accept our offer to be on the waitlist, we will inform you of our final admission decision by May 15th. If you decline our offer to be waitlisted or do not respond by April 21, 2012, you will withdrawn from the admission process.:confused:

Congratulations for the waitlist!

I would be very hopeful about the waitlist. I would think that there is a very good chance that enough people will decline the offer that you may get the waitlist spot. Hang in there and we will continue to pray for a BFE.
