Class of 2020 USNA Appointment Thread

It is my impression that "still being in the game" (ie. CPR) is not a guarantee of being 3Q. If you are medically disqualified, the process of obtaining a waiver does not start until a conditional appointment is offered, correct? Or do they even inform you when they are in the process of obtaining a medical waiver?
 
Zip, Nada, Nothing. 2 more days this week and then the final 10 business days til April 15th. My suspicion is that next week will be BIG, as I've had others notify me that their students have to reply to various schools by this Friday, April 1st, with a decision of acceptance, which would open up slots to fill.

Isn't the wait crazy??? My son's plan B schools have to be informed by May 1st. I will continue to anxiously check the mail ;) Glad to know we're not alone. Thanks.

Congrats to you and more so for your DS! Who knows, maybe he will write about his journey decades later after he retired as an Admiral! Being more mature should definitely help!

On March 31st, 2012, the USNA Class of 2016 Appointment thread was at 84 Appointments , the last updated entry was at 87 Appointments on April 6th, 2012.

On March 31st, 2013, the USNA Class of 2017 Appointment thread was at 115 Appointments , the last updated entry was at 121 Appointments on April 4th, 2013.

Yes, however the Facebook page is NOT an official one run by admission like USMA/USAFA have. The admins are other 2020 appointees, so we weren't invited by USNA admission to join the page.

Congrats. I remember getting into Furman (turned it down to go to NAPS), then my brother got into Furman (turned it down to go to NAPS) and then my sister applied to Furman. The counselor there said, "we're going to get one of you in here." She ended up graduating from FU. I visited NAPS with my son last year while on a New England vacation. New building. They were tearing down Nimitz Hall due to asbestos, ha! That was one of my favorite years, after the summer training. A blast playing football, lots of time off (more than a 1/C at USNA) and great friendships that carried over to Annapolis. It's like you're the underdog and all Napsters band together to this day :)
 
I think it depends on the MOC. I received a call when I received an appointment, and a status update/email came a few days later. BFE came 10 days after portal/email update. If the MOC doesn't call, I assume it would just be a email/portal update. (The email is automatically generated when the portal is updated.)
 
Even if you do get an appointment you may want to consider accepting at Plan B school anyway. It's insurance in case anything happens. We did it-put down a deposit too About 10 days after IDay we called the school and told them where he was. They said there would be no problem filling his spot for the fall semester. Deposit was not refunded but we weren't expecting it to be either.
