Part of the SF86 Security Clearance is live and part is not. When I save my progress (download to pdf) I lose the life editing function. How do I save my progress and keep live editing over multiple sittings?
Son accepted his appointment today. Anyone have an idea long until the Appointee Kit is available on his portal?
Coming from an active duty perspective, when you are in civillian clothes nobody cares, just don't wear something that promotes anything illegal(i.e. drug use). While in a uniform though you will follow AFI 36-2903 Dress and Appearance and any suppliments to that AFI made by the unit commander which I have linked below thelinked below. From my understanding doolie cadets aren't allowed to wear jewlry unless it has religious significance until recognition.I may be in the wrong thread for this but I had a question regarding jewelry. I know we (cadets) are limited to what civilian clothing we can wear, but lets say we want to wear a bracelet or a ring. Would we be allowed to ?

Thanks for the clarification. I was going off of what I had heard from officers I know but, being a male I never asked about jewlery so i just kind of inferred a few things based on the whole getting more freedoms after recognition.Coming from an active duty perspective, when you are in civillian clothes nobody cares, just don't wear something that promotes anything illegal(i.e. drug use). Unless something has changed very recently, the jewelry restriction applies to basic cadets (prior to A-Day), where only that of religious significance can be worn, but it must be "hidden", such as a pendant necklace under the shirt. After A-Day, and actually during the A-Day parade, you will see females with earrings. Other jewelry, per AF regulation, will also be allowed after Acceptance.
Hey everyone, for the security clearance that we bring on I - day how long until they process and clear you. I’ve heard that sometimes it could take over a year which seems crazy to me.
The web page is not obvious. You have to check the box and when you do, the form changes and you see a place to Choose File and Upload. Then you can Submit the form. We had a good laugh when we finally figured that out.Ok has anyone uploaded the optical form yet? DS says he doesn't see a place to do it.
They don't have to be waterproof, most boots people wear in the "real" Air Force are not waterproof. I will be wearing tachyons as well since that is what I was wearing before I switched over to OCPs and a pair of danner tanicus. They were super comfortable and I recommend them.Since there isn't a very active boot thread, I'll post this here: I'm looking at Danner Tachyons, but I am not sure if they are compliant as they are not completely waterproof (but I know the Nikes many cadets wear are not either). I know I will probably only wear them for first beast and the heavier Bellvilles in Jacks Valley.
Here's the link to them: https://www.danner.com/tachyon-8-sage-green.html
Awesome, thank you so much! I really don't want a lovely pair of broken-in boots confiscated on I-Day!They don't have to be waterproof, most boots people wear in the "real" Air Force are not waterproof.
