So, for USNA college reapplicant application, should I wait until I start attending college to apply? Some of the questions ask what year I graduate in or what my level of education is currently. Since I am still a senior, my current level of education is still a high school one. But if I am reapplying for the class of 2024, would I then be a college student, since I am going to college?

JMPO, but there is no need to rush the USNA application - they will want to see your first semester grades before your application is assessed, so take your time. I've heard of some early MOC nomination deadlines, so they will probably be the critical path for you in the short term. You just might find that you encounter some challenges that would make good material for your essays this summer or during your first semester of college.

Thank you for your commitment to re-apply.

Thanks. I believe my MOC's deadline is quite late, as it was this year. However, I will be taking care of that situation first.

Focus on nailing college-level academics. Take a plebe-like schedule: Calculus, Chemistry, English, History, all at freshman level or higher. Be active in athletics (intramurals is fine) and extracurricilars (leadership impact is good). Do ROTC if it’s available on your campus. USNA will want to know that you can handle a plebe-like schedule.

You will also need new letters of recommendation from your college and math professors (high school teachers won't work for re-applicants), new references, new essays (how you have grown, new goals, etc.). You may want to re-take the ACT or SAT and...super important...finish your high school year strong. All "A's" if possible. Improve your class standing, your GPA, take on leadership roles if possible. Join ROTC in college. It doesn't need to be NROTC...those schools can be hard to find. But just about every school has (or has access to) an Army ROTC program. This will show initiative on your part, give you some leadership, and confirm whether or not a military career is what you want. It also will give you another nominating source for next year or, at the very least, a great recommendation when you reapply.

IMO - I would complete the pre-application now at USNA.edu. It will take a couple of weeks for them to officially classify you as a CO 2024 candidate and give you a candidate #. At that point you can start chipping away at things...you have time. Just get the process rolling now and start thinking about/working on the above points.

Starting point...read the sticky above. There is no hurry --- Admissions isn't going to look at your application until first semester grades are in anyway. My opinion, finish high school strong, submit reapplication , breathe, perhaps reach out to your BGO to introduce yourself, but don't rush into personal statements etc. until you have some college under your belt so you can write about something different. Don't just repeat your high school application.
PS - this applies only to USNA application. MOC may have other criteria, so get your name in early, talk to the MOC office and let them know you are a reapplicant, and ask what they want t see.... early submission showing interest and motivation, or after a little college and showing personal growth,
