Complete Pending Review

You have another month before you need to execute on a backup plan. Make sure it's selected and ready to execute. It makes the wait easier, or it did for me.

Yes ,,,CPR does not mean that the application has been sitting in a corner of Admissions languishing. It's safe to say that by now, the Admissions Board has reviewed the application and made the determination whether the candidate is qualified , or Q ... then it goes to Noms and Appointments to determine whether there is a qualifying nomination, and if a competitive nomination , who the best qualfied Nominee is. Finally, if you the candidate doesn't win the slate, determination whether another path (NWL ?) is available. There is a lot going on at Admissions while all you see is CPR. Bottom line, be patient -- you are still in the game until you receive the TWE.
how is the process for prior enlisted applicants? do we get notified differently? do commanding officers get news before enlisted member or does the enlisted member still find out via email our application?

Enlisted applicants usually hear late in the cycle. Not all do, but most. It’s because USNA is racking and stacking all the enlisted applicants and slotting for NAPS and direct. Usually you hear via a portal update. Sometimes the Chief will call and others times I have heard of COs finding out. You just never know. Hang in there. The wait is almost over and good luck.

Plan B and Plan C ready and I'm still dying because of the wait

I'm so sorry! You received an e-mail today? Argh!!! I was hoping bad news only came on Thursdays. Now we can dread every day equally.

Yeah email came around 1, but I’m not worried I have my backup with ROTC and I’m even more determined to be appointed next year. Good luck! I hope that you see news of an appointment soon and maybe I’ll see you in the summer of 2019!

I love your attitude and outlook! Our local news had a great article this week about blooming where you are planted with respect to college admissions decisions (because so many are coming out this week). You will certainly bloom wherever you go. It takes a special kid to get this far in the process.

Thank you I appreciate it! We can’t get discouraged by not getting the things we want if we want them more than anything else. That’s simply how I feel about the academy.

My DS showed me his portal just changed to some thing different than previous days/months:” Congratulations your ... is Complete Pending Reviewed....” above the boxes. Does that mean the admissions just have the chance to look at his file today?

Mine has been like that too. I think it's always been like that. I double checked because I had the same thought a week ago!

All I can say is it isn’t over till its over...

DD’s first attempt for USAFA resulted in a TWE, and then 30 days later a Foundation Scholarship offer came in. She accepted, went to a Texas prep school for a year and is now finishing her Junior year at USAFA.

DS’s first attempt for USNA resulted in first being wait listed... then TWE. He went to NROTC for a year and was then offered a USNA appointment on his second year application.

I am amazed more at the commitment and perseverance of these two kids than anything. Yes, its great they ultimately both are where they wanted to be - im telling you they worked there buts off after HS to get there.

Its overwhelming how dedicated and committed they were to the ultimate goal of an appointment - and an additional year of hard work and focus to get there.

Your journey is not over yet - even when you get the first TWE... I used to always ask the kids as they were growing up - how bad do you really want it?

Hang in there, you will be amazed at the options and doors that will open up.

My status has been CPR since November. I have my nomination (MD08) and I have qualified medically. Most of my friends in Maryland have heard back but I have received no correspondence and my BGO says he has no news for me. Does the Naval Academy have a National Waiting List like USMA? Maybe that's why it's been so long to hear back from.

So is it safe to say that if you have been CPR since August, admissions has reviewed your application? @Old Navy BGO

Yes, while always a possibility for exceptions, I would expect that Admissions has looked at every application by now and mad the "Q" determination. Right now the focus is on filling the class from among the 3Q candidates.
