Sydney C,
Having been witness to the tradition and utterly breath taking display of our current and future naval leaders, my only comment is, well said!
As I sat in a small section of bleachers for the Oath ceremony, I could barely contain my emotions. The feeling of pride was overwhelming to say the least. Fighting back tears while trying to record the ceremony was the second most difficult task of the day. I do not have military background in my family. Hovever, the last few years on this "roller coaster" has truly ignited a pride in our military that seemed to have been taken for granted. As I watched these outstanding young men and women swear to defend our Constitution, I could not stop the tear that trickeled down my face. I did so wearing my USNA class of 2019 shirt, and proud of it. I as well hoped that each Plebe will fulfill his or her dream. The day was exhausting but in a good way. I met forum friends that I hope will become like family over the coming years. Congratulations to those young people who see beyond 4 years of college, that answered a call to protect and serve. Cheers to each and ever one of these outstanding members of this great institution. God bless and watch over each of them.
