Quick Question:

Is it worth to apply to an open position for a Congressional Internship, with my District? Obviously, It wouldn't help my application to the SAs this year, but will it look good for me, assuming I might be accepted to the position for next year, when I reapply to SAs, and have to apply for nominations?

Please don't take this the wrong way but you seem to be casting a wide net at everything BUT the most important things. Those are
GRADES, TEST SCORES, PHYSICAL ABILITY (CFT), DEMONSTRATED LEADERSHIP, and ATHLETICS.
Knock those out of the park BEFORE you try to get the "extra edge" by things like interning at the Congressional Office.
I can assure you that the greatest internship possible would not outweigh mediocre performance on any of the Capitalized items with any of the many interview boards that I have served on.

I agree with OldRetSWO. If you have a strong desire to do a congressional internship, I would point out that the military services have a Congressional Fellowship Program (or whatever each service calls it). The Marines, for example, pay for you to get a Masters Degree in Public Policy while you serve as an aide to a Congressman, Senator, or one of their committees. I think you become eligible to apply as a Captain. So.... if you don't do it now, then there are opportunities later.

Disclaimer: I'm not sure how the other services run their programs.
