Congressional Nomination

One way to know is to chat up the MoC staff and ask how many applications they received. The day of the interview chat them up and ask how many interviews they have. The info doesn't help you interview, it just gives the mind something to think about while you are waiting for results.

As far as double nominations increasing chances - I know a kid who had two nominations and did not get an appointment. As far as I can tell, getting the nominations is less selective than USAFA admissions. If I remember correctly, an MoC can only have 5 appointees at a service academy allocated to them at one time. But over a 4 yr period, than can nominate 40 to 50 applicants. Often, an MoC will have more nominees at a service academy if they are a competitive district/state because USAFA wants them and finds other nomination sources for them so the MoC is not charged an allocation.
