Does anyone have any ideas of how to convey the desire to attend a service academy in 50 words? Obviously, it has to be sharp since there's not a lot of wording.

Essays are tough to write, but it has to be personal.

It has to come from your heart.

Yes, 50 words doesn't give you a lot room to maneuver.

Write and write.

Each MOC may have different requirements for their application. It is partly about following directions. They mean 50 (or less) words so you have to be concise and to the point. They don't want a flowery essay that just rambles along and says nothing. We can't tell you what to write since we don't know your background or history.

I would start by making bullet points of every possible reason you have for wanting to attend, including the 'bad' or 'selfish' reasons too, and then rank them in highest importance to least. After that, decide which ones you absolutely must share, and share them in such a way that make you unique.
