about 2 weeks ago I made my first contact with my alo. I havent heard back and am wondering how long that could take?

I had some trouble contact my ALO as well. If you're in PA, maybe you had some of the same difficulties of we, as there was just a change up in a position. Also, my ALO told me she would be out of contact over this week. Have you emailed or called?

Hi!

An ALO "first contact" can be...slow.

Reason?

ALO's almost all (okay, 99.7%) fall into one of three categories: USAF Reservist, Air National Guard member, or retired USAF/USAFR/ANG. There are a "very limited" number of active duty ALO's.

And since MOST fall into those three categories...most have other jobs! A large number are airline pilots and their schedules are...sketchy. They're in town, out of town/country, home a couple days, gone, etc...

Bottom line...be patient. If you sent him/her an e-mail and have heard nothing, fear not! We just completed an admissions cycle and many ALO's are "taking a break" so to speak. And currently we have NO candidates on our ALO websites; they've been "scrubbed" by USAFA...for now. I expect them to start "cranking it up" within a couple of weeks.

However...all that being said...if you haven't heard by the end of the third week, e-mail and call as a follow-up.

One "other possible cause" is: do you have the correct ALO? I ask because ALO's do retire and they typically retire after a cycle: June or July. If your listed ALO did that, the new ALO may not be listed.

If you want to PM me with your school name and location, I will check the ALO lists.
