CORTRAMID WEST report

And while we're educating, it's pronounced Camp Luh-Jern.

I live about 15-20 miles down the road from the base. It has been brutal this past week but the coastal areas here are almost always 5-10 degrees cooler than inland and the breeze is usually stronger and more "refreshing". If an old man like me can get out to mow the lawn in this heat in tha AM and early afternoon, then the Marines here can handle it.

I got some video of some KNARLY head to toe bruises today earned on the “confidence course”. The Mom in me was dying but DD and friend seemed to take it in stride. She said her friends were worse and they look worse than they feel. Looks like she’d been beaten to a pulp. The girls that don’t have the upper body strenth for pull ups had to “chicken wing” which caused many bruises. Spirits still seemed good. Said the heat was brutal but everyone was more worried about getting a “silver bullet” than complaining. Lots of blisters too.
I said it sounded like boot camp and was corrected that “no, today was just a taste” and they will also be doing “fun stuff” soon.
Tough kids!!
