CULP Criteria

Is there a standardized selection method across CC for CULP, or is selection up to cadre discretion? I was told last year that I would be one of the first ones signed up for a CULP application, but I was wondering if that statement had any facts behind it or if it was just the cadre assuming so because my stats are competitive.

I can tell you how it went with my son, he went the summer after his Freshman year.

The application is very short, not a lot of information is asked. While every cadet that is contracted is allowed to apply, my son's PMS sent an email to a couple cadets encouraging them to apply. The two cadets he sent the email were the two cadets that were selected. My guess is that while every cadet can apply, the PMS writes the recommendation for the ones they ask to apply. In the end CULP will make the final decision, my feeling is if your Cadre/PMS is encouraging you to apply then it sounds like you will have their backing.
