CVW for college re-applicant?

Our freshman college student is reapplying to USNA this year and received a CVW invite. We were a bit surprised because we thought re-applicants seldom received an invitation. She attended NASS and a CVW last cycle.

Any other college re-applicants going for a CVW? The logistics of trying to get her there from her college are a bit mind boggling as we are hundreds of miles from both USNA and her school!

It’s an opportunity to see the academy during the academic year. Much different than NASS.

If it is logistically or financially not possible, that’s ok. Just reply with a polite thank you and have her kick butt in her plebe like college classes. Focus on math and sciences for sure!

CVW is offered on a variety of WEs in the fall and spring. If the date offered doesn't work, consider asking if there are other dates when she could go. Since she just started college, this might not be the best time for her to go (though it's a great time to see what plebe Ac Year is like). A later date might fit her schedule better.

Unless there is some reason DD wants to take another look at USNA, there is no reason to attend....
It sounds like the CVW invite went out to every candidate, so not really an indication of everything. I
DD focus should be on excelling in her first semester of college,,not traveling and spending a weekend at USNA just because she thinks it will get her bonus points on her application ... use this as an opportunity to communicate with your Admissions Counselor --ie. "Thank you for the invite, but I am a college freshman, reapplying to USNA, and have already attended NASS and CVW --- I am reapplying because I really want to attend USNA, so a CVW isn't necessary !"

Thank you! DD would jump at any opportunity to visit the yard! We’ll see how timing and logistics work out. If it isn’t possible she will definitely follow up with a note.
