Does anyone know the dates for parents weekend and other important dates for 2009? Parental units wanted to know when parents weekend is for 2009.

Would anyone know where I could find out these dates? And/or if there is a 2009/10 calendar out?

Thanks!

Parent's weekend is always Labor Day Weekend...you'll see the hotel rates in C-Springs go up 200% that weekend...if you can find a room! Embassy Suites is already sold out for that weekend.

I stay at the ES every year. Always enjoy them.

My parents heard hotels go fast, so they booked one way back in November when I got a LOA . At least I've got the appointment now, cause it would have sucked to have to cancel.

Another question... When is the acceptance parade? I see the calendar says BCT ends on August 1st, but I wasn't sure if this was the day that the parade takes place.

Thanks again! :thumb:

what's the difference? I think I read that parents can come watch the parade, but would you be able to talk to them at all?

yes... you get to spend most of the day with your parents on acceptance day right after the parade.

Well, considering last year "I" day was the 26th of June and this year it's the 25th; and last year "A" day I believe was the 6th of Aug; I will assume that this year "A" day (the parade) is on the 5th. mike.....

A guess - if BCT ended on Sat Aug 2nd last year then the Acceptance Day parade was either on Tues Aug 5th or Wed Aug 6th. Classes began on Thursday Aug 7th.

We got to spend 2 to 2.5 hrs with our cadet two years ago.

Seems so long ago. We were all the ones asking questions about the application, nominations, LOA, appointments. Then they went off to "I" day. We visited them on "A" day. We saw them on Parent's weekend. They got through the first semester and the holidays. 25 more days until "R" day. People like Hornet, Redhead, and many others were just becoming C4C when I first chatting with them. Another few weeks some are going to be juniors C2C and seniors C1C. Where does the time go. My son is already talking about summer break; GE; soaring; spring football practice; and so on. Next thing you know, I'll be at his graduation popping him a salute. Where does the time go.

You candidates/appointees; ENJOY THE REST OF YOUR SENIOR YEAR!!!! I know you're excited, but you can't get ANY of these days back. EVER!!! later... mike.....

P.s. Sorry for taking this off topic.

CadCandMateus, hornet, whomever; do they still have the different color prop/wings for cadets with military parents? They use to, but it's been a long while since I even thought about that.

yup, still have gold and silver ones. can't remember the exact requirements for the gold, it was army air corps and member in for 20+ years I think (also anyone that had a MoH in the family I think)
