... but they're tasty! haha.I-Day includes a breathalizer test so maybe not go to Pusser's Caribbean Grille.
- National Aquarium in Baltimore.I’m getting to the area around the 25th (a bit more time for activities), any other suggestions on how to spend the last few days besides the usual eating spots and Yard tour?
Seems like a lifetime ago, but as I've written on my blog a number of times, I-Day was, without question, my worst day as a parent, mostly because we (as a family, including my son) didn't really know what we were getting into. If we had, the night before I Day would have been simple enough - let him pick the type of dinner he wanted (which we did, he wanted Italian), get some ice cream, hydrate (a lot), and get a good night's sleep. Spend as much time together as possible. Oh, the one thing we DID do right was staying really close to The Yard (we stayed at what is now The Graduate).Trying to plan when to arrive in Annapolis on 6/29. Is there anything specific that anyone recommends doing before I-day?
Thanks!
Great in theory .... not so much in practice.get a good night's sleep
Yep, definitely person-dependent. In DS's case, he was pretty whacked out so he conked out at a reasonable hour and we had to wake him up to get to his 8 a.m. report time. As for me, I rarely sleep more than 4 or 5 hours a night, so it didn't matter all that much. And, like I said, we really didn't know what we were all getting into, so ignorance led to a good night's sleep!Great in theory .... not so much in practice.
How many truly get a good night sleep ? (including both parents and Plebes?)
Seems to me you are better off keeping busy than sitting in hotel room watching the clock.
NavyHoops knows whereof she speaks. Plebes will never have an entire summer off again, if they stick with this for the 4 plus minimum of 5 years, and they will transition to beloved visitors at their childhood home.Night before I Day sleep is tough for many. Hotels with multiple people, maybe even the first night in the hall, nerves. It’s why leading up to it you need to sleep well, take really long showers (you will understand this after about day 2), drink a lot of water and Gatorade, play video games, be a kid for the last time.
