Hello, I am a candidate for the 2026 admissions cycle, and I just had a question regarding the timeframe for possibly receiving an admissions decision. I have a nomination from both KS Senators, MOC, and the Presidential Nomination. I have completed my application as of Jan 31, and I am qualified in all aspects of my application (DODMERB, CFA, Nom, etc.). When should I expect a decision on my application? 100% a difficult question to get a straightforward answer, but any help is perfect! If there is anything that I am missing that could be helpful, don't be afraid to ask away.

I didn’t receive mine until May 31st, only a few weeks before my BCT. Waiting is the hardest part! Be proud of yourself for completing the application, and finish the semester strong. Good luck!

Many candidates will have multiple appointments. They don't have to commit until 1 May, although many commit earlier. Once those final decisions are made, another round of appointments go out, and so on and so forth until just before BCT. It's not over until BCT starts. Having said that, have a solid plan B, C, etc...

I understand that appointments can come at any time between now and I day, but what about rejections? If you are flat-out not going to be offered an appointment, do you get a rejection letter at some point (March, April)?

most people I know got theirs last year (including myself) on Apr 15.

DS actually received a rejection letter on April 15, then a call from MOC June 4 with appointment! They can appoint up until BCT, doesn't happen often but it does happen. Had Plan B with AFROTC scholarship lined up so came as a SHOCK but first choice was always USAFA.

Could be in a week or you might wait until May. There is no way to know. Even if they pick a winner(s) from your slate(s), they could still perhaps take you off the NWL. Patience.
I just received a rejection letter from West Point. Could I still be considered for the prep school? I feel like I fell short on sat which was my weakest part of my application.

Yes, you could be. Did you make it known you would be interested?

I had made it known to my nomination board but not to anyone at West Point.
I'd let admissions know.... or perhaps your FFR. If you are strong academically then it's probably not likely, but you never know. Doesn't hurt to let them know
