Deferred from EA. Next Steps?

In regards to sending updates, I want to confirm that the transcript can be sent in by the applicant, and it doesn't need to be my guidance counselor. Secondly, is there a specific form to send in a PFE redo?

Check with your AO on the transcript, but I believe you can send that directly to your AO. I don't know about PFE redo. Suggest asking your AO about that also.

Our AO said to email PFE results to him. I was nervous about this because it seems unofficial. Our transcripts aren’t avail until next week so my DS took a basic screen grab and sent them.

Thank you, that's helpful!

Not to worry. Improved PFE results emailed to AO get into the official file.

I had some time so I decided to really dig into the weeds here regarding last year's pool of self-identified deferred EA candidates, to figure out as best I could how things turned out for them. Here is what I came up with. There were 21 overall (a number of whom didn't identify or appear until after RD came out, which is why that number is larger than we have seen so far this year on this forum).

9 (43%) - No indication of appointment or ROTC scholarship (1 or 2 mentioned self-prep)
7 (33%) - Accepted other SA appointments
3 (14%) - Accepted ROTC scholarships
1 (5%) - Accepted CGA appointment
1 (5%) - Accepted CGAS appointment

Update due to one data correction:

Question for those who were deferred from EA to RD: my DS's Bears Den portal just has the CCEB Review Complete box ticked with the Decision Available link to the letter he received in December about the deferral. There has been no change in the portal since December. Does anyone have anything different? I'm assuming we will just receive an email or call with the decision?

We are in the same boat (deferred from EA to RD), and while I certainly hope that my son gets an appointment, I would never recommend to him (and he's not considering as an option for himself) doing a year of college somewhere else and applying again. The SAs are a great option, but they are by no means the only great option. Indeed, my own father, a WP grad, consistently told me as I was preparing for and in college that he thought ROTC scholarships were "a better deal," as just one alternative, and I took that advice.
I was commissioned with a guy who spent our freshman year somewhat bemoaning that he hadn't gotten in to WP and considering reapplying. Well, he ultimately opted against it (this was the early '80s) and retired a few years ago as a Special Forces O-6. I'm quite sure in the fullness of time he didn't regret his choice. And I was commissioned with another guy who turned down WP, and I know he didn't regret his choice.
I would tell my own child if he asked to get on with life.
Just my $.02.
I needed to hear this ❤️ My DD seems to be waivering away from the SA. We have no decision yet and still waiting on possible ROTC but when going over options of possible self prep she immediately said it’s not the rd I want to take. If she gets into the SA she’ll go but if nothing pans out she sad she wants to do community for two yrs, transfer and do OTS. It broke my mom heart but the reality is it’s her life and her path and I can’t want this more than her.

You're right, as much as you want it for her -- it's her life and her decision. You can offer advice, but best to offer a listening ear, and support her in whatever she decides. My DD applied EA, and was Deferred to RD. Still hoping she'll hear good news April 1 (or earler), but prepared to take plan B if needed (1 year at college and reapply).

My DS was deferred from EA to RD. Yesterday he received a phone call from his Admissions Officer with the "good news." There was no change in the Bear's Den and we were not expecting to hear so soon. Good luck to your son!
