Deferred? Tap in here

Curious when deferral emails are being received compared to the submission date of EA file under review email. Does anyone know if they are reviewed in the order they are received or ABC for everyone after the deadline was met? My DS met the EA deadline, received an email on 10/18 saying it would go to review in two weeks (roughly beginning of Nov) and hasn't heard anything. Not sure if that is good, bad or irrelevant.

I’m curious too. Looks like Dec 6th was another big day of appointments.

It's irrelevant. Don't read too much into those emails indicating "will be reviewed in 2 weeks". I swear it's just a canned response and doesn't mean much of anything. Also, don't read into the little check list on the Bear's Den page not updating. Those things aren't really accurate at all most of the time. I know that they were looking for volunteers for the CCEB team and the deadline to submit was like Oct 27 or something, so there probably wasn't much reviewing going on yet during the first week of Nov.

I'm not certain on order of review, but I don't think that order of review determines order of any sort of notification as there are multiple steps to the review process and those that make it through all that have to get the OK by Adm Johnston. So that basically means you may have an applicant who gets reviewed, flies through the process get's an appointment, compared to another applicant initially reviewed on the same day that gets bounced around a little, re-reviewed, further discussion, etc before a decision is made.

Example, my daughter last year submitted the end of September and received an appointment in the very first batch. There were plenty of applicants who submitted prior to that but didn't get an answer until later.

I believe it's common for deferrals or any potential flat out denials to be communicated at the end of EA once everything is reviewed and buttoned up.

Hang in there and best of luck!!
