Differences Between Branches of the Military?

Max, you got it wrong...they built the runway first, then the O Club, then the golf course, and went back for money for the housing.

Let's be honest, the AF traditions prove that the Club is on top of the list, otherwise, nobody would have to buy a bottle of Weed when Betty beaached at them. The reason Crud exists is because they got to drunk on Weed at the club and couldn't afford to buy new pool cues or balls.:shake: Most other branches will say that's because the spoiled brats in the AF got the money for the housing too, but were pushing their luck for destroying the Club.

At SJAFB, we have Brits, and every yr they throw a huge party at the club...the tradition there is to torch a piano at the club! It is too funny to watch, because as they soak the piano in lighter fluid on the club patio, you just keep saying to yourself, they are all so drunk, that all they need to do is breath on it and it will go up in flames.

TPG,
I am with you on the Army General and Navy, but I don't think Obama plays favorites to any military branch...or the military in general:rolleyes:

I've always heard that the AF built housing, golf course and O clubs first, and then went back to congress when the money ran out for the runways lol
Actually some old Navy guy told me that. :yllol:

Maximus:
who you calling old??

Nobody is mentioning how great the Navy bases are, small wonder why. The Navy puts it's money into those gray things that float then if there is any left it's used for upkeep on the parking places (bases) for those gray things. Every Navy base I've lived on whether barracks or housing I had to sign a waiver stating that I was accepting sub-standard housing. Off base housing was not always an option (Guantanamo) but elsewhere was recommenced.

I don't know about Naval Air Stations having never been stationed at one, but they are probably nice since the pampered fly boys of every service can't be expected to deal with anything less. yes even the Army Air Corp.:yllol::shake:

Gunner,

And this is why I say the military is like a sports division (Navy). No problem talking trash about those in your division on another team(fliers), but you will still defend them to the end against a different division (Army) :guns6:

Now, everyone regardless of their sports division will defend their sport. GO against any military branch as an outsider and they will all have the same reaction...attack them you need to go through me first

Very good point Pima, it was an unwritten rule that Marines had to save all squids from having their head used as a mop in the back room of a bar, unless it was a Marine cleaning the place out

I think you've been watching to many movies again, you're confusing fantasy with reality. Once again a squid will bail you out. I've highlighted the parts of your quote a good Marine should be most familiar with:yllol:

Yes and the term “Squid” is a term of endearment often used to identify those fairer members of the sea service including our puddle brethren of the USCG.

Never heard Coasties referred to as Squids. Of course, I've also never heard of a Marine winning a fight, unless he's fighting another Marine.

Coasties referred to as squids: They should consider it an upgrade as compared to what we usually call them.:yllol:

Lits: please don't get the Navy cargo (Marines) riled up or we could have a stampede on our hands.

I actually had someone say "why don't you just combine with the Navy?" After which the Navy chief in the area said that they didn't want the Coast Guard, and I responded that "that wouldn't be good for us, because we have standards."

Remember what we call you....when your shipmate isn't whispering sweet nothings.
