Hello,
I was looking to find out if anyone had any information or knowledge from someone who might have gone through the unfortunate process of being disenrolled and fulfilling the ADSC through enlistment. The common knowledge I had was that upon disenrollement and being required to serve enlistment for a period of 2 years, the prior cadet would go to AIT and would not have to attend basic training again due to already doing so at the Academy. If anyone has any knowledge of if this is a fact or some sort of AFI on this I would greatly appreciate it.

Long story short, I was disenrolled several years ago and after going through the Board of Corrections of Military Records I am able to fulfill my obligation to serve enlisted after a clerical error that initially required me to repay. Now going through a recruiter, they are stating that I would have to attend Basic Training again, which I didnt believe was necessary.

I appreciate any help, and don't need all the comments that aren't helpful and condescending about being disenrolled.

I know nothing that would be a helpful answer to your question. However, I do just want to remind you that you have a whole life ahead of you, and regardless of the circumstances you're in right now, you can always rebound with hard work and dedication, even if it's not with the military. Good Luck on your journey. I wish you all the best.

Well, personally I wouldn't quibble about attending Basic if it frees you from replaying. Sounds like a small price to pay and an opportunity to shine.

Thanks kinnem, guess you can’t read. Didn’t need your comment as it didn’t help answer at all. Attending basic training at 29 is a little different than when I was 19, and less preferable.

I think Kinnem’s response was reasonable. Basic vs repaying is likely preferable to many. Do you prefer to repay? At 29 you’re probably climbing the corporate ladder so should be no issue.

I thought I was saying it is what it is, but I guess I wasn't clear. If there is some way around it for you, then great. If not then I guess you have to bite the bullet, or repay.

I am well aware of my situation and just feel that your response was unnecessary and unproductive to my question, which I was trying to avoid. I am well aware doing basic is better than paying a debt, I did not need a thread about deciding if that was preferable. My question was simply about the requirements.
But alas, as I predicted I didn’t get the answer I needed from the forum.
If anyone comes across this looking for the answer, the answer I received today from the Academy is that indeed Air Force Academy Basic training allows you to be exempt from enlisted basic and your next step would be AIT.

Unfortunately one doesn’t get to dictate how a conversation goes on an anonymous forum/internet/social media. Lessons that seem to be realized a lot recently. Or in person for that matter.

When we speak to each other, we allow the other to say what’s also on their mind. We don’t get to tell the other person what they can or can’t say. Or feel. Or how to interpret what I intended to say. It’s a back and forth sharing of ideas. A conversation.

Makes me sad OP was so short and rude to @kinnem, someone who is proven to be fair, helpful and so giving of their time. Who addressed the post anyhow.

OP you probably should have asked your question of admissions in the first place. And no one here was judging you. You have a lot to offer others going through this. Good luck to you.
