My sat is 1250
My gpa is 3.3(3.55 if we include 12th grade 1st semester)
I have a leadership position at my church and have served over 100 hours
My Cfa score is really high

No one here can give you credible odds. We know too little about you and there are too many moving parts to this whole process. Some will tell you they got accepted with similar stats. Some will tell you they were declined wlth similar stats. But that has no bearing on your own chances.

As is often said here, you only have zero chance if you don't apply.

Do you have a nomination? Cleared DODMERB? These are big hurdles for some and nominations are closing next week if they haven't already on your area.

If you're a senior and haven't started application yet then no...not this year. What stage are you at?

Who knows..
My son's SAT 1350, GPA 4.1, 4 years varsity sport(swim & lacrosse) teams, 3rd degree black belt of Taekwondo, 3 times presidential volunteer awards(total over 350 hours), church youth president and media team leader for 3 yours, currently assistance Taekwondo instructor and lifeguard, have a nomination from one of senator and CFA & DODMERB clear several months ago.. but still waiting.

As noted above, no one can tell you if you will or will not receive an appointment, except the SAs themselves. I hope you have a Plan B and Plan C too.

I recommend to all of my students to put together a Plan A - B - C. "A" is the SAs, Plan "B" is one or several ROTC scholarships, and then "C" is the set of civilian universities that you apply to as part of the ROTC application process. I have had three students who won a scholarship or simply joined ROTC on campus (as part of Plan C) and then won an appointment (4 of 4) the following year. Some 25 - 30% of all cadets/mids at the SAs did not come directly out of high school as many attended a prep school, or a year or two of college, prior to becoming cadets/mids.

Focus on what you can control. Update the schools if anything 'newsworthy' happens (such as an award or a new promotion). Keep up your workout routines and avoid 'senior-itis' -- plus, support others who are going through the same waiting game as you are.

Best of luck!

If you wanted my opinion, the odds are not great. Have you gotten a nomination?

That nomination really helps. It shows that the board sees something in you. Did you just apply to West Point, or Air Force and navy?

And for a point of reference, I had a 4.0 all throughout highschool, 32 ACT (roughly about a 1400 I believe) and had student council, church president etc… and I just received my appointment. You never know. You just cannot know until they tell you yes or no. But have a back up plan, and just know it’s in Gods hands.

thank you very much. I am only applying for West Point. And I do have a back up plan in case this doesn’t work.
Overall, the statistics are not good. Scheduling the medical exam too late poses a risk; if disqualified, obtaining a waiver takes 2-3 months, pushing you into April or May. By then, many appointments are filled unless there are rejections. While not ruling out your chances entirely, they are diminished. If unsuccessful this year, consider starting early next year, planning diligently. Many successful appointees commence preparations as early as February, completing everything by September, excluding Nomination, which is MOC-controlled.

You really try to get that SAT up. Im at 1390 and idk if im gonna get in. Went on a visit and very few guys I met had below 1300. One guy on the floor had a 1500 and another 1600. The average they show on the site is brought down by the prep kids and some athletes.

I aggree on this. At least for cadets who got appointed at our city I know are all around 1500. Samples are more than 7 in three years. Get as high as possible. I know one is 1200 and went to prep.

Don’t get too caught up in comparing SAT scores. DS had super score 1300 and was appointed. He was not a recruited athlete. He is now a cow (Jr.) and is top 25% of his West Point class. Yes, get the best score you can, but there is more to an application that SAT score. Good luck to you, hope it works out for the appointment.

Agree with @Allectus - one of the best things about West Point is that the academy develops incredibly well rounded leaders of character - and to that end, the academy looks for well rounded candidates as part of the application process - so being amazing at one thing only is not what historically it seems tips the scales at West Point, rather, being well rounded, invested in and succeeding in a number of areas (scholastic, sports, leadership, service, fitness, etc) is a better marker of both an appointment and long term success at West Point and beyond. Keep working on the SAT scores for sure - lots of great free resources online to help study, strategize and maximize test scores…if you can afford it, take it a few times as it varies from test to test in terms of both the question types and the peer scores for that particular version - and work on all the other areas too :)

Hey. I believe your SAT to an ACT is a 26-27; I got a 27 on my ACT and I didn't take the SAT. My GPA was 3.8 when I first submitted my application. I received an offer from USMAPS, so your chances are good if you can improve your GPA and ACT. My CFA was decent, I believe. I also had a ton of work to show in my extracurriculars; CAP Commander, Team Captain, farmhand, 100+ volunteer hours, etc. so I would highly recommend you dedicate more hours to some other leadership position than what you are doing right now. My ACT score was - I don't know this, this is only speculation - probably one of the main factors of why I didn't receive an appointment.
