DODMERB Status Changing

Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with this situation....So I am a candidate for both USMA and USNA. DODMERB granted me a waiver for USMA a while back ago but under USNA it has said Under Waiver Review for a good while. Today, in my USNA portal I now have a checkmark instead of an X by medical examination, and my USNA status in DODMERB says Under DODmerb Review. Is this a good sign? I am kind of thinking if I wasn't going to be offered they wouldn't bother with putting me up for a waiver? Has this ever happened to anyone else? Just for reference, I became medically ineligible in October due to a 2nd degree AC joint separation sustained during a football game. I have since fully recovered, but still had to go through all the medical checks as I had to get an extension on my CFA.

Do you hold an LOA, pending medical qualification? That would be indicative of an appointment headed your way, pending your medical issues.

If not, you cannot make the assumption that an offer is forthcoming. It means you are still in the game, until you are told you aren’t.

My DS is in the same situation. USNA advised us that, unlike USMA or USMMA, they only begin the medical waiver process once an LOA or Conditional Appointment has been been offered. Once an LOA is in place, then they begin the medical waiver process. USMA and USMMA began the waiver process immediately upon their receipt of his DQ from DoDMERB.

I think Mr Mullen would tell you that DODMERB does not grant a waiver, it is up to the specific Service Academy to do that.

So maybe I am being considered for an appointment and they just haven't notified me? My status has definitely changed and is now under review. Hoping this is a good sign! I hope your DS gets one as well!

Yes, so that would explain why USMA has granted me one. I have been offered an appointment for MAPS there.

How long did it take to get your waiver? My DS received an LOA today pending his waiver. Wondering how long that process might be. I’m sure they are pretty busy right now
