DoDMERB, waiting for a waiver, and school down payments

Hello, I am an NROTC scholarship recipient waiting on DoDMERB. Currently, I have 3 DQs which I am hoping to receive a waiver for. However, at this time, I still have AMIs waiting to be processed. Given the COVID situation, I know that everything is shut down and the process is a lot slower. My top school’s, Purdue, priority housing application deadline is April 15th and requires first a $400 commitment fee. I am unsure what to do in terms of my deposit while waiting on my waiver results. Any advice or experience would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Follow the instructions in the FAST sticky at the head of the DoDMERB forum.

My own opinion and it's worth what you pay for it. NROTC waivers can sometimes extend well into the fall semester. If you can afford Purdue without the scholarship then send in the deposit and start doing NROTC, hoping for the waiver to come through. It may or may not be approved but you will be on the right path. If you can't afford Purdue then when you have to, make the deposit on your alternate plan C school. I assume you have that plan ready to go. If not, get it ready.

DS got a negative reply on the scholarship in mid-April some years ago. It was still plenty of time to execute plan B. Hang in as long as you can.
